I found the news report of the "judgment-challenged young father" a polite way of calling him a total idiot. Fortunately the story ends well, however, this idiot took his 2 year old daughter through multiple barriers into the bull-elephant enclosure for a selfie. Yes, the elephant charged.

Once they escaped unharmed the father was arrested for child endangerment.

Well I brought 7 boxes (the case boxes for copy paper) to the Presbyterian church this morning. Leaving those boxes behind was really difficult for me...like leaving a pet and hoping they’ll be treated gently and loved. Most of my books look like new because I am careful to never break the spines , dog ear the pages, or mark the pages in any way.

I do have several good, old friends (people I’ve known since I was 18) who attend that church and I was able to (“socially distant and masked) visit with them.

Same here. I have no idea what kind of books you'd kept through the years - that would be different for all of us - but I did a really major purge in 2011, of both books and records (like, a few thousand records), and I look back on that now in horror, wondering how in the HELL I did it. And to be sure, several times I've looked for something I wish I hadn't gotten rid of then. But not too many times, and not one of the items has been a deal breaker.
