At least MR BK doesn't have friends like Kylie Jenner.......her friend and makeup artist has about $120,000 in bills for cancer treatment, and Kyle the self proclaimed billionaire donated $5000 to the Go Fund Me. 

I hope it doesn't run her short this month.

Perhaps that was all she could take as a tax deduction.

I stopped at Trader Joe's on the way home. Spent too much money, but I look forward to trying some of the things I picked up.

I got some burgundy alstroemerias. For food, I found a mix of nuts and dried olives that sounded interesting, some Persian cucumbers, farro and sun-dried tomatoes to experiment with, some of their housebrand potato chips (which remind me a little of Charles' Chips), and some smoked salmon, which I had a little of rolled up with cream cheese and scallions inside. Oh, yeah, and some dark chocolate-covered almonds with salt and raw sugar.

I hope you enjoy everything.  They all sound intriguing.

When LA partially opened up last summer everyone thought that the restaurants would be mobbed, but they weren't. The beaches, yes, in some areas. I've seen some increase in customers at some restaurants, but not others. One restaurant manager told me that she's glad to see the increase, but that she's not going out to eat. I suspect many here feel that way. I'm glad to see the increase in business, but I'm not ready to do it myself.

We talked about returning to dining out and decided to wait until after our trip.  We will have to have most of our meals out while we are in Chicago.

Keith told Bray & Kate we would be glad to watch Freyja so they can have some alone time.  I laughed and said they are counting on it.  Priceless were there expressions of agreement.

Bruna's Ristorante is an Italian place that dates back to the 1920s. Loved the food and the atmosphere. Of course, this was pre-pandemic, but it was excellent.

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening!  Today was a decent day.  Work in the morning, some friends came over and I made a taco salad bar and we worked on a murder mystery we've been solving in this series called "Hunt a Killer" - we completed our second task.  That was fun.  Great cap of a mediocre weekend!

I found the news report of  the "judgment-challenged young father" a polite way of calling him a total idiot.  Fortunately the story ends well, however, this idiot took his 2 year old daughter through multiple barriers into the bull-elephant enclosure for a selfie.  Yes, the elephant charged.

Once they escaped unharmed the father was arrested for child endangerment.

I read that, too.  What an idiot!

I ushered for an interactive, immersive show based on The Office called The Scranton Strangler. It was a good excuse to be outdoors for a few hours. I didn't see anything of the show, but we had more people show up than we had reservations for, which was good. There were seven or eight shows scheduled for today.

The Washington Center is going to have its first (at least, this is the first to be announced) in-person event on April 20.  They only need four ushers (and no concessions), so I don't think there's much hope of me getting assigned, but we'll see.
