Well, you've read the notes, the notes had red lights, and now it is time for you to post until the red light cows come home.

Topic of the Day:

At Long Last Love
The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas
Boogie Nights
The Cannonball Run
Lucky Lady
Silent Movie
Smokey and the Bandit

And an Honorable Mention goes to Evening Shade, his TV series in the early 1990s.

And, to paraphrase DR Matthew, that is all I have to say about that.

I have to go do some cardio. I don't want to, but it must be done. It simply must.

Last night we slept with the AC running; it was too damned hot and muggy. I slept well until 4:30 or so, and around then the cats got restless.

I am still doing Noom. I have been at it now for 5 weeks. I am down 24.5 pounds. I am happy, but I still have such a long way to go. But I am headed in the right direction.

When I had my pre-surgery check-in last fall, the doctor said, "You know, you're very sick. Maybe, given what the world is going through right now, it's time to take stock of yourself and make some changes."

So I am.

That aria is so hard to get just right in tone, between the singing, the acting, and the comedy.

We watched the first act of the 1969 BBC telecast of Britten's Peter Grimes last night. The picture was good, the designs good, the cast very good, and the sound dreadful. Surely the BBC sound folk could have adjusted things before releasing a commercial disc?

We have a dangerous heat warning here today. It's going to be quite humid; the heat index is going up to 101.

Interesting, DR elmore3003.  I hated the Met's most recent staging, with everyone popping out from behind Advent-calendar windows.

This morning I have a zoom thing as a guest lecturer for a Dike University musical theatre class, 8:30-10:00.  I hope it goes well.

Interesting, DR elmore3003.  I hated the Met's most recent staging, with everyone popping out from behind Advent-calendar windows.

That was the work of that "favor of the day" director, the inept John Doyle, who screwed up Where's Charley? and Irma la Douce for Encores! I cannot say I think much of his work.  My memory of that Met production I saw - around 1984 - was by Tyrone Guthrie.

The first 9 minutes of In The Heights that have been released early make me want to watch the entire thing.
