Thursday......last night was a good audience, but it was probably our most lackluster show....everyone was a bit tired and for some reason the theatre was very WARM.

This morning I have a zoom thing as a guest lecturer for a Dike University musical theatre class, 8:30-10:00.  I hope it goes well.

Was this the week that DR Elmore starts typing classes with vixmom?   :)

I remember being pretty thrilled with Boogie Nights and how it so strikingly recreated a time and place. I also agree it gets pretty depressing in the latter stretches.

I've really liked the films of P.T. Anderson, but it's now been a number of years since I watched any of them so I'm about due for a little PTA revival here.

I thought this article was really cute.

Kittens illustrate musical terms.
Musical terminology, taught purrfectly by 13 classical cats - Classic FM

That brings to mind the picture I took in 1974 of my first ever kitty (we only had dogs when I was a kid) walking across the keys of the rented baby grand in my first Hollywood apartment. It's...somewhere around here; when I find it I'll post it.

I can't wait to open the windows. It's 77 now, and (FINALLY) only going up to 83 today, so I should just do it. Right?

We've had the place shut tight since Saturday noon, and this just seemed like the grisliest stretch of hot humid weather.

So yes, it's time. The changeover comes tonight, anyway, with overnight temps (FINALLY) in the low 50s. Even if it's a leeetle warm this afternoon, it'll be nothing like the whole past week.

Quarantine Hair, DR Ginny?

Kind of, DR ChasSmith.  I'd started letting the layers grow out and the last conversation Tina and I had before quarantine was about whether or not to let my bangs grow out, too.  Well, that was in February, 2020, and I didn't have a haircut until August, so that took care of that.  I've had trims in November and April and that's what I'm having today.  We'll see how long this longer hair lasts, but for now it's sort of fun.

It was looking just fine on those Kritzerland zoom sessions.

The windows are OPEN.

And omg, the smell of the fresh air and the feel of a slight breeze are incredible. Birds are singing. I'm sure a jackal is braying somewhere. It's a whole new world.

I have to go do some cardio. I don't want to, but it must be done. It simply must.

It is very important to do and I am glad you are making the effort.

I am still doing Noom. I have been at it now for 5 weeks. I am down 24.5 pounds. I am happy, but I still have such a long way to go. But I am headed in the right direction.

When I had my pre-surgery check-in last fall, the doctor said, "You know, you're very sick. Maybe, given what the world is going through right now, it's time to take stock of yourself and make some changes."

So I am.

Wow, shocking but I like your doctor.  Congratulations on your weight loss.

Is your long hair longer than mine?  Currently I consider my hair short.

Not quite, DR Jane, but, based on your anniversary dinner picture, it's very close.
