DR ELMORE the Dream-O-Matic 6000 says that your dream indicates you are feeling a bit overwhelmed at ALL of the projects you are working on.  And although you try to avoid it, your personal activities keep taking up your work time....

Thanks for that news, DR John G. I use a Phillips "Dreamstation" CPAP, about a year and a half old. I'll have to check if my machine is on the recall list.

I love Lee Remick in The Competition. It's not a great movie; kind of camp, really - but I love Lee in it.

It does appear that my CPAP is on the recall list.  Thanks, DR John G., for that alert. I would have hoped that my medical provider would have alerted me, but they did not. I am glad I got the message in another way.

I haven't seen The Wheeler Dealers since the 1960s. I loved that stuff as a kid, and it was regular drive-in fare for my family.

I did watch The Anderson Tapes last night. Most interesting, what I'd remembered and what I'd forgotten. It's definitely fun, even while the whole approach re the "new" surveillance technology then is amusingly dated. But I'd forgotten it was a Sidney Lumet film, so the direction and especially some of the NYC footage is fine.

There's a great shot that begins looking west across Times Square at the Howard Johnson's -- with a large "Burlesque" sign above it, and a "1776" sign up high just down the street -- then it pans around to looking east on 45th or 46th St., whichever it is. But every location shot takes me right back to when I first began visiting NYC, in literally that year (1970, when they were filming). The whole look and feel is of a NYC that is largely gone.

That dated surveillance theme reminded me another film dated in the same way, but over a decade later -- Peckinpah's The Osterman Weekend. I recall that being an oddball film, anyway. Nevertheless, the thought of it makes me want to take that one out and have a go at it.

I'm glad that my 8 weeks since my first shot was yesterday. Because later yesterday they announced that they are closing the walk in clinics for 1 week due to a late shipment. So I'm really happy that I was able to go yesterday.

Wow, you really were lucky.

I’ve used mine for seven years. I can wait seven weeks. I really cannot sleep with out it.

There has been a recall on cpap and bipap machines this week. I am the only one I know who uses Phillips, which was the company with the recall. But I can’t find out if my machine, now 7 years old, is included. My apnea doctor is no longer operating in the area. So I called Aetna and got a referral. I have a virtual appointment with a new doctor in August. Nice thing about the virtual appointment is I can do it from Louisville.

Good luck!

Was there a mail delivery yesterday? That federal holiday came rather late on Thursday.

Mail was delivered.

DR John G. - Go here:  https://www.usa.philips.com/healthcare/e/sleep/communications/src-update

Click on "register"

After that, you input your device's serial number; it will tell you if that unit is recalled or not.

Love Beethoven. Love the kids. Don’t know that Beethoven needs counterpoint.

My serial number is not affected, which is great news. Still glad I have an appointment with a new doctor.

Has anyone ever listened to Stravinsky's Threni? It is the composer at his most astringent. If you don't like Les Noces, you probably won't like Threni.

His Mass is cooly quite beautiful, however. Gorgeous woodwind writing.
