DR Jennifer did you family get together today for Father's Day?

My parents, my sister and my nieces (and me) did eat outside in the backyard for Father's Day. But we had to do it at 2pm because my younger niece's sports are starting more seriously again and she had her first inner team soccer game.

thank you DR CHAS SMITH.  Yes, DR singdaw....I knew the job was dangerous when I took it.

Very high risk, these Casting Director jobs.

Bad ankle sprains can take a very long time to heal.  I wore my ankle brace around the house for several years.

It was a soft brace for a hairline fracture in my ankle.  Once the break healed I continued wearing it as I noticed the pain from the 2 year old sprain was finally improving.

Even if not until 2:00, it sounds like a nice Father's Day for everyone.

I received a text from my [probably ex] friend Debby wondering what she did wrong and why she was not cast as The Narrator.

I told her why - for the most part.

I am now a Dream Crusher, it was the LAST PART she ever wanted to play, and she will never audition for another show.

And that's my Monday so far.

Sorry.

It’s Amazon Prime Days. Walmart, Kohl’s and everybody else has followed suit. I’m lucky, I guess, because I don’t want what they’re selling.

I received an invitation to wedding in the mail today.  It is on July 31.

Since I am officiating, I guess I should respond in the affirmative.

Just saw a great kids book in an overstock catalog. The Great Dictionary Caper.

The words escape the dictionary and flock to Hollywood for a huge annual event—Lexi-Con. Liberated from the pages, the words get together in groups including an onomatopoeia marching band, the palindrome family reunion and hide-and-seek antonyms. It’s all great fun until the words disagree and begin to fall apart.

Good Morning.  Home from Orlando.  Glad to be home with my boys- they seemed happy to see me.  Today begins a short 2 week summer class on iMovie at school which will be fun.  Other than that, we'll see how the summer goes.  I have a trip planned in August for Disneyland, but that's about it.  We'll see if we can get some of these self-imposed projects off the ground at home, or maybe just chill for the summer - and hopefully many bike rides, of course.  In the meantime... here we are.

So, JRand and anyone else, what would be your dream role? Even if you’re not a performer.

I would love to play Jess in The Good Companions. I can’t sing or dance, but, hey, it’s a “dream” role.

Sounds good. Please tell us about the WDW experience, insofar as masks and distancing and other considerations are concerned. Also, do you stay in the "World" or outside?

Years ago, I saw a local children's summer production (it was really quite good) where they actually cast three women as the narrator(s), and they each took sections, as well as sang in harmony at certain times.  The three women who sang were their seniors who were graduating from the program, so it made sense to feature them, but any one of them could've played the role alone and sung and acted the hell out of it.

DR Jrand70, when I cast The Fantasticks around 1977 - DR Ginny will know the date! - I lost a regular player who wanted the Old Actor role, and much as I liked him and would happily cast him in less virtuosic parts, he never returned to audition again. His last words to me were that I owed him the part.

I see a lot of that double/triple casting in the show on YouTube DR GEORGE.

....and there is always that one who isn't quite up to it.....it annoys me.....I understand having that many girls in a school that you "reward" with the part....   But like the horrifying Children's Chorus.....I can do without it.....  Here's a thought, folks!  The audience is your audience!

Since we don't have many seats to sell - it is not an issue this season. We don't need to put in as many folks as we can fit on the stage.....so that all of their relatives buy tickets.
