Watched a motion picture, and now listening to Miss Farrell - another pop album, this one with Percy Faith, and this one is fantastic in terms of arrangements and orchestrations.

This afternoon we had sweet cream ice cream with honeycomb.  The honeycomb was soft and swirled through the ice cream.
OMG it was good.

For dinner we went to a Bosnian restaurant,  something we haven't done before.   It was fantastic.

DR JohnG, the cats love whitefish and have it every morning for breakfast.

They're always invited for lunch.

It's after 11 p.m. and the fireworks are going strong, which means the bird is in full scream mode.

A sauce/spread served was Ajvar, an egplant & red pepper dish. To my surprise and delight it was the Romanian dish Zacusca that Craig makes.  It has been a long time since I have had it.

So, the soup I made today called for smoked haddock, which I could not find. Smoked haddock is also called finnan haddie, and any mention of finnan haddie makes me think of "My Heart Belongs to Daddy."

If I invite
A boy some night
To dine on my fine finnan haddie
I just adore
His asking for more
But my heart belongs to Daddy.

Because there are few degrees of separation when it comes to Cole Porter.

I have hit the halfway mark in "The Chosen and the Beautiful." I agree with the bisexual part of this retelling of The Great Gatsby. It's told from the viewpoint of Jordan, the lady golfer and intimate friend of Daisy. But I don't particularly get why they're also vampires. Maybe more will be revealed in the second half.

Last night, the DBF (yes, it's official) came over and I grilled dinner - which was great.  Then we watched "The Trouble with Angels" which I had never seen - great film.  Fun and I loved the jabs at Catholic schools and Catholics in general....

Congrats on being official, Matthew! ;D

I am 2 weeks and 1 day double vaccinated. And I hugged my nieces for the first time since March 2020.

Great news, Jennifer!

Congratulations! How happy that must have made all of you

Actually my niece who just turned 12 does not love hugging anyone but her mom and sister. So she wasn't overly excited.

Darn...not great news. :-\

First time in ages I had dessert - too much dessert, but I can do that once every few weeks, I think.
