I just received the mp3 files of an NPR program "Fresh Air," from Sept. 1999. It's a program of early Jerome Kern songs with John McGlinn, Rebecca Luker, and George Dvorsky. If you would like the program, let me know, and I will send it to you.

I'm interested!

Speaking of opera streaming.

The Met's site has next week's schedule titled "Final Week: Readers' Choice".

Hmm...

DR Jennifer, Canada is looking very good right now.

"There’s no country that’s more like the United States than Canada, its neighbor to the north. But as the hyper-contagious Delta variant spreads — and as COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations start to rise among unvaccinated Americans in state after state — a key difference between the two countries has emerged.

With nearly 70 percent of its population now at least partially vaccinated, Canada is well on its way to reaching herd immunity. The U.S. — which has stalled out around 56 percent — is not."

I'm not exactly sure what the difference is here. Cases are the lowest since March 2020. We only have 50-100 cases a day (for a province of 8 million).

We did only re-open our restaurants and gyms in June. And we are still all wearing masks at stores, which I am happy about. The interesting thing is that second shots only started in June. But I think that we are 80% 12+ with one shot, and 50% with both shots.

I think the big difference is you didn't have people in the streets protesting masks and other things.  Plus Canadians seem very willing to get vaccinated.

Hopefully your numbers will continue to improve without setbacks.
