And more vibes to Singdaw.

I will need a procedure something like yours at some point. I tried to book an appointment, but the phones were always busy. That was an easy one to put off. The thought of having my toenail removed is enough to make me faint.

Next on the medical agenda is an appointment with the ENT to figure out why my voice has become so hoarse and scratchy.

When your two jobs are talking on the phone and singing, and you can't rely on your voice, it's a problem.

I agree, DR Jeanne. It's a scary thought.

I couldn't look anywhere in the vicinity of where they were doing the work. However, they use coolant and numbing agents initially, and frankly, it didn't hurt.  The numbness has worn off, and it's very tender, but it's under a bandage so I don't have to look at it.

Sorry to hear about the water leaks, Vixmom. It sounds like you're a very experienced homeowner and know what to look for to troubleshoot these problems. Glad to hear that Vixdad could fix it. Think of what a plumber would have cost!

Not having to look at it is a big plus! Some things in life shouldn't be seen or heard.

Vibes it heals well and is pain-free very soon.

I had an appointment last week with the osteopath, an appointment I REALLY needed. I arrived at his office to find a sign on the door saying that the office was closed due to an emergency. They weren't saying what it was. Sigh. I understand that things happen, but it was 6 WEEKS until his next opening. He's my primary care physician -- 6 weeks is an unacceptable wait.

My chiropractor is getting rich. (Chiro is expensive, but osteo costs me nothing.)

I just finished Ruth Ware's THE DEATH OF MRS WESTAWAY. I was very impressed with the first 3/4 of the novel -- very interesting story, very hard to put down. But I just can't accept the ending. Too much stretching to make things fit.

Has anyone else read this or any of her other novels? Any problems with endings?

For Red Gold, forget the kid characters - who would play the adults?

Jane, I always wear a disposable mask when going to the hairdresser. I simply take it off when he needs to wash my hair and then hold it over my mouth and nose. Now that many people have been vaccinated I feel there's less risk than there was before, but I still prefer wearing a mask.

The many fires may make many people who normally prefer to be maskless rethink that. The air quality is not bad here right now -- "moderate," which is a step down from "good" -- and I can't smell smoke, but that can change in a heartbeat.

I thought you were avoiding going since your hairdresser wasn't wearing a mask.  My mask has never gotten wet while my hair was being washed, probably because my hairdresser began putting a towel over my face.

I can imagine your disappointment.  I hope somehow you will get in sooner to make up for the closed office.  It was nice that a note was left but would have been better had you received a text, call, or an email.

I didn't think much of "The Woman in Cabin 10" and almost didn't read Westaway.  I was glad I did though I admit I don't recall the ending-lol

We were there yesterday and I forgot to get a few things.  I have to go back once my prescriptions are finally in.  I will make sure to get what I missed and can't get at Safeway.

We're watching Hoarders. I've never seen this show. My family could have been in it. I probably could be in it, just for books.
