Then I went to the theater to see only our playlet. The new gal was mostly fine - it was the other actress, the one who's been doing this for four weeks already who was fumfering her lines so badly that there wasn't a single laugh, until the big laugh line halfway through. Perhaps she was thrown with her new partner, but they'd run it prior to the show three times.

That's interesting. Hopefully, they'll gel and the laughs will come back!
