I’m going to have The Ocarina playing in my head for a while now.

Ocarina happened to be an answer in my crossword today. It's following me.

Yesterday I binge watched the last three episodes of Belgravia, which I liked very much. What I do not like very much is the plethora of scenes so dark you can barely tell what the hell is going on, especially when things rev up in the final episode. In many ways the plot - and I assume it's the same in Fellowes' novel on which the miniseries is based - reminds me of Dickens, or maybe Trollope (since Fellowes earlier adapted Trollope's Doctor Thorne for televison) without all the odd characters and subplots.

Fellowes has adapted both, so it’s probably an amalgamation with a little George Eliot thrown in for good measure.

I’ll have to watch it soon.

How could I forget George Eliot or Elizabeth Gaskell? I want to watch Doctor Thorne but it isn't yet on Netflix.

As an adaptation of Trollope, Doctor Thorne didn't quite work. As a standalone, it was enjoyable.

Practiced Viennese waltz a little too much this morning. I hope I can remember this routine.

We're dancing it to a bluesy Elvis song called Power of My Love. What's interesting is that I never think of the blues in 6/8 time.

After my church gig this morning and a round of grocery shopping, I had to lie down for a nap.

When I was a kid, there was a hilarious book called The Classics Reclassified, which ripped apart all of the dreary stuff that we had to read in class. My favorites were the spoofs of The Iliad and the Odyssey.

Right now, I'm listening to a modern version of that: Texts from Jane Eyre and Other Conversations with Your Favorite Literary Characters.

I recall my throat was very sore after my last endoscopy and looked to see what soup we have in the cupboard.  The only soup in there that I like is a tomato soup, something I figure I should avoid eating after the procedure.

All I currently have that is soft are eggs to scramble & ice cream.  I had better shop for a can of soup.

While searching foods I found an article that suggests having someone go with you for emotional support prior to the procedure as well as picking you up.

Obviously that is an old article as I am sure no one will be permitted to go in with me  ;D

Thankfully I don't feel the need for Keith to do more than simply drop me off and pick me up.

Regan and Goneril trading texts is a hoot. I think on a certain level I'm the same kid I was back then.

That book sounds familiar. I might have known and liked it, too. And wasn’t there one, or maybe a few, on Shakespeare?
