My car has gotten very little use over the  three years or so

My new commute made me realize that the brakes were making a sound I didn’t like

And there was some whining noise from under the hood

[vixmom]

And it was nearly time for an oil change

[vixmom]

And when I brought the car in for all that the mechanic kindly pointed out 5b at I was. In year 5 of a three year battery

[vixmom]

So $2300 later……

[vixmom]

Yeah there no decimal in between any of those numbers

Guess it’s a Good Thing I got a job

I went to look at your new porch and steps Ginny, they are lovely!

I finally got around to reading Stranger in a Strange Land.

It hasn’t  aged well

It doesn't seem to have.

I finally got around to reading Stranger in a Strange Land.

It hasn’t  aged well

It doesn't seem to have.

I tried to read it for a book group several years ago and gave up.  Heinlein is one of Richard’s favorite authors.

OH! Before I forget…George my neighbor came over this evening , he’s been away on vacation and had his mail held.

 Apparently they also held some of mine with his.

It doesn't seem to have.

I tried to read it for a book group several years ago and gave up.  Heinlein is one of Richard’s favorite authors.

I read it back in the 70’s and loved it.

I tried reading it again about a year ago and was put off by the way the women were portrayed.

Guess it’s a Good Thing I got a job

Yup.  And how is the job going?

So far so good.  I haven’t broken anything yet and fixed a few things.  They seem to like me and I don’t dislike any them .

I almost know everyone’s names.


The fun thing is how many people come into the office and know me.  I’ve been averaging a reunion every other day or so with visiting attorneys, paralegals, closers, the IT guy…that’s been fun .

We have begun watching the new series FOUNDATION.  I loved the books when I read them though I don't recall much since it has been a long time.  I read that the series is reflecting a more modern representation of women, at that Asimov had actually updated his books to do just that.  Good for him.  I expect I read the updated versions.
