Not only am I grateful to have had the doctor, but am so thankful to my mother the drill Sargent who did my exercises with me every day, for years and years, and years.

Finishing up Cosi Fan Tutte - not really my thing musically, but it's a lot of fun and beautifully performed in fantastic monophonic sound. I really love Eleanor Steber and looking forward to Madame Butterfly next with her.

I couldn't understand very much of what was going on, but I got the gist of it. The acoustics at this theater are notoriously bad.

They have revised the security protocol this year. One can only take in a ziplock bag, and one must hold up their arms like you are being robbed while walking through the metal detector.

I'm up, I'm up - oh, wait. I've been attempting to watch stuff but snooze off repeatedly, so I'll re-watch the Balanchine ballets tomorrow. I've probably half-slept for about ninety minutes overall during the course of the so-called evening.

Had a surprise drop-in visit - Grant and Lydia Geissman and my old pal Gary Stockdale and his wife. Grant wanted them to see the house, so that was fun.
