When George came to visit me in Seattle, we went to Pike’s Place Market for some tourist shopping. One of the things I bought was a bag of porcini pasta. I made it for dinner tonight with friends. I sort of followed the recipe for the sauce, featuring a pound of various mushrooms (oyster, cremini, seafood and trumpet) sautéed with sherry, thyme and a lot if black pepper. Delish.

I only made about a third of the pasta, so I can repeat it a couple more times.

Good morning?  So what did I miss?

I think my school/life schedule is settling down finally.  Everything might be running smoothly now.  I do have some show gigs coming up that I'm quite jiggy about.  It will be great to get back into the pit again.  2 different productions of ...Spelling Bee and one of Mamma Mia which will bring me up to Thanksgiving. 

Sad news, I had to put DD Ben down a few weeks ago.  He had been declining the past month and we weren't sure what was going on until we found some swollen lymph nodes and the blood test pointed to cancer.  He is now out of pain.  DD Leo and I are working on our relationship as Leo has always been #3 in the pecking order (me being #1 and Ben being #2) but he's doing great.

That's all I have, it's great toi finally have a few minutes to say hi!

It does! Carl Hiaasen's last book was a comedy about murder and the Mara-Lago groupies around an incompetent idiot president and his wife.

My insurance would not pay for an in-facility sleep assessment, but only for a home (overnight) assessment. So I got the equipment and hooked it all up, and guess what? I *still* registered as having sleep apnea! And got the CPAP. I know the insurance companies hate that, as it means them paying out a lot of bucks for a long time.

Good!  That's what insurance is for!

Well, computer goes to the Apple Store tomorrow. My senior tech exhausted everything he could do. We did get the desktop for Big Sur as a test user, but it just won't find the Time Capsule back-ups. Again, in disc utility it does look like all my stuff IS on the hard drive, so hopefully they can extract from that or the Time Machine. I have to bring both things so hopefully they can extract from Time Machine while I'm there so I can bring it back home to use as my router, otherwise I'll have to buy a new router and hope I can figure out how to set it up because I can't get on the wireless from the guy in the back house - too far. So, probably another sleepless night, and I'm cancelling tomorrow's noon rehearsal.

I learned today that a close friend passed away a few weeks ago. She was in her eighties and had been under a lot of stress for many years. Then last Spring her daughter passed away. She hadn't been taking calls and now a heart attack. I will miss her.
