How is it possible to make such a horrible movie?

Guess what, Tom...there's going to be a sequel. ::)

Several years ago I read and enjoyed a book, MEG: A NOVEL OF DEEP TERROR.

I remember enjoying it at the time.  It was along the lines of JAWS, but with a much larger prehistoric megadolon.

I saw that there was the movie version of the book, renamed THE MEG, on TV this weekend

So, I taped it and watched it tonight.  This must have really changed the book into the movie because I remembered absolutely nothing about the story.

The movie stars Jason Stratham and Rainn Wilson (from THE OFFICE).  I had never seen Mr. Stratham in anything, but I think he is in a lot of action films.  I spent the entire movie trying to figure out who Rainn Wilson was, because he looked so different.

When I taped the movie, I didn’t realize that it was on a commercial station, so I kept having to fast forward thru all the commercials.  And there were a lot of commercials.

It is funny how they give you this long segment at first before they go to a commercials, but once they have you hooked, they have more and more breaks.

In addition to probably getting his big break in The Office, Rainn Wilson also played Harry Mudd in Star Trek Discovery, the prequel to the original series.

For what it’s worth, the movie is not bad.  It is certainly better than the last two JAWS movies.  So, if you don’t mind having helpless people (and at one point a cute little dogie) swimming in the ocean while a giant tuna closes in on them, then it is an okay diversion.

And Sarah Jessica Parker is now eight years older than how old Bette Midler was when they made the first movie.

I didn’t even recognize Sarah Jessica until half way through the film.

The one good thing (for me) is that my co-worker Linda who has been on vacation for the last three weeks is finally coming back to work...which, I'm sure, is not something that she's looking forward to. ;)
