I normally sleep with my Alexa unit playing rain sounds all night. I started this a couple of years ago when the local geese began keeping me awake during their mating season. For some reason, the local geese find the yard outside my bedroom window an ideal place to do their courting.
Geese are loud.
At any rate, the rain sounds lulled me riight off to sleep.
Last night, I was having sinus issues, so I began my sojourn into dreamland by sitting in my recliner. I had a blanket over my legs, but it was a tad warm for that. I did dream, but I dreamed I was roasting in an oven. I kicked off the blanket and managed to cool down a bit. Oddly the temperature inside the house has been quite a bit warmer than the temperature outside. It's this warm weather front that had us near 80 degrees yesterday afternoon. Like DR Elmore, I turned my AC on for a couple of hours last night.
Moving along, I slept about four hours in my chair. When I woke up, I realized that I was breathing well enough to use my CPAP, and I went to bed. I was out like a light with the rain sounds playing. But, after about two hours of sleep, I awoke to a sound I'd not heard before. The rain was still going, but there was a whooshing noise I did not recognize. I also noted a blinking light on my Alexa unit. I told Alexa to play my notification and learned there was a wind advisory in effect until this evening. That whooshing noise was strong winds whipping around the end of the house where I sleep.
Once I reconciled what I was hearing, it was rather interesting that the wind complemented the rain sounds. I slept another two hours and am now bright-eyed, straggle-tailed and alert. My bushy-tailed days are long behind me.
