Great start to the new book, BK!

I had another lousy night of sleep. I winterized my bed way too early. Next year I will wait until January. Last night I turned the AC on for several hours.

I remember one dream, or bits of it. I was in charge of the music for some institution like a university, and a famous jazz group was coming in to perform. There was  serious issue concerning their most famous number, and we were trying to track down their original charts. At one point we had three or four incomplete sets of parts from various times. The group came to perform and we had a measly audience turnout. They had a young singer who sang with them, and she stole several books I owned, so I had to contact the police. The detective was Jesse Martin from Rent and Law & Order. I remember walking into a room and Annabelle was sitting on a shelf inside a cabinet of CDs.

Last Christmas I sent Ann and Jen a shipment of fruit from Harry & David. They said the oranges were the best they'd ever had, so I thought I would do it again this year. Last year, the shipment took forever to ship, and it arrived in the middle of January. I knew they were away until Jan. 2, so I thought if I placed the order on Christmas Day, it might ship after Jan. 2. Well, it arrived on Wednesday, and I've been holding onto it in my apartment. I am terrified they will open the carton and find spoiled fruit or the roaches had got into the carton, which has eight air holes on two sides of the box.

I love these big pharma designer drug ads on television that say "Don't take WonderDrug™ if you're allergic to WonderDrug™.

Duh!

I have wanted to try the series Manifest. I think both DR Ron Pulliam and DR TCB have mentioned it.

I normally sleep with my Alexa unit playing rain sounds all night.  I started this a couple of years ago when the local geese began keeping me awake during their mating season.  For some reason, the local geese find the yard outside my bedroom window an ideal place to do their courting.

Geese are loud.

At any rate, the rain sounds lulled me riight off to sleep.

Last night, I was having sinus issues, so I began my sojourn into dreamland by sitting in my recliner.  I had a blanket over my legs, but it was a tad warm for that.  I did dream, but I dreamed I was roasting in an oven.  I kicked off the blanket and managed to cool down a bit.  Oddly the temperature inside the house has been quite a bit warmer than the temperature outside.  It's this warm weather front that had us near 80 degrees yesterday afternoon.  Like DR Elmore, I turned my AC on for a couple of hours last night.

Moving along, I slept about four hours in my chair.  When I woke up, I realized that I was breathing well enough to use my CPAP, and I went to bed.  I was out like a light with the rain sounds playing.  But, after about two hours of sleep, I awoke to a sound I'd not heard before.  The rain was still going, but there was a whooshing noise I did not recognize.  I also noted a blinking light on my Alexa unit. I told Alexa to play my notification and learned there was a wind advisory in effect until this evening.  That whooshing noise was strong winds whipping around the end of the house where I sleep.

Once I reconciled what I was hearing, it was rather interesting that the wind complemented the rain sounds.  I slept another two hours and am now bright-eyed, straggle-tailed and alert.  My bushy-tailed days are long behind me.

The winds came in last night so strong that I had to get up, go out and take down the large set of chimes, which were banging against the house.

Unusual weather we're having, ain't it!

Elmore, your oranges should be just fine. The box is sealed. Oranges are in season now, so they haven't had time to spoil.
