I stopped at CVS while on my walk today to pick up some KN95 masks. They wanted $100 for a pack of 5.

It was a relatively low price. Something like $30 for 50.

I ordered Kn95s from Amazon. Waiting for delivery. It’s now two days late.

How much did yours cost?

Futzed and finessed - not as huge as yesterday, thankfully - made a couple of nice and significant additions, smoothed out stuff, and then wrote two new pages. Lunch was Kluckin' Chicken - their good sandwich and fries - excellent. I'm gonna shave now, write another three or four pages or however many I can. Then I'll go to the mail place to pick up some packages, then mosey on over to see a play reading at the Group Rep.

Writing vibes. BTW, I had to file a complaint with PayPal today because I haven't received the new book yet.

I know, that's Vixmom's line, but it's a good one.

There's a wonderful Texas swing group called Asleep at the Wheel, and they've apparently been making music for 50 years now. I got their latest, Half a Hundred Years, from the library today, and it has a wonderful Irving Berlin song, Marie, that they perform with Willie Nelson. Nelson's recorded it before, and it's just beautiful.

You got a good price, DR John G.  I ordered from 3 different manufacturers, and they were approximately $45 for a pack of 20, or, in one case, 40.

Is there any information on the longevity of these N95 masks? I assume they're supposed to be disposable after one use?

I have to get a Hep B vaccine, and I have to use CVS because of insurance. Well, you have to schedule a vaccine shot in advance online, but you can’t schedule a Hep B shot, because it’s not an option. So, after waiting 20 minutes for a human to answer, I was told I could get the shot I needed, but to just lie on the form.

Oy.

I have found a new app for my iPhone.  It is called "Whisk".  It is a recipes app and it not only offers loads of great recipes, it allows you to add recipes you find online that you want to keep.

I learned about it on my local news.  It's considered an "App of the Year", and it's free for iPhone and smartphone users.

Cool.

I had a moment this afternoon during which i grievously missed my mom.

These moments don't happen often, but when they do, it's almost as bad as when she first passed.

Sending hugs.

The first time I heard of them was when The Manhattan Transfer recorded an album with them back in the late 1990s, and then they all performed on Austin City Limits.  I love the album and the TV show was fantastic! ;D

Yes, but since we don't work with sick people, or teach children, we wear ours multiple times.

It is a series of three vaccinations.  We got the first two before visiting Craig in Romania.  At the time we couldn't get them at the pharmacy and went to the county health something or rather.  The price was fairly reasonable.

I meant to ask the group, especially Elmore and ChasSmith, if they had ever seen the movie Blue/Bleu with Juliette Binoche as a composer. There are some scenes in which she is orchestrating her music, and she hears lines with percussion, without, with flute and full orchestra or only with flute, etc. In a way, it seemed like Ann Southern writing a song lyric in a second. On another level, it was fairly exciting. I was wondering what people thought of it.

I'm starting White/Blanc tonight. These stories are all happening supposedly at the same time, a favorite storytelling idea of the director, Krzysztof Kieslowski. Juliette Binoche just appeared in a courtroom scene in the background.

Am bummed to learn that Alvin Ailey, supposed to have come here in March, has canceled. I wonder if it's covid. They sold out the last time they were here.

Interesting. I acquired that set of films on one of Criterion's flash sales and I haven't yet watched them. Never saw them in theaters, either. Is Blue the one to watch first?
