It seems that the men's long will start tonight about 8:30 on USA network and switch over to the big network at 10 p.m. or so.
Meanwhile, the awards ceremony for the team competition is on hold while the ISU considers some issues that may put the eligibility of one of the Russian skaters in question. Has to do with doping, if the reporting is close to the mark. The skater in question is the female, Kalima Valiyeva, who made skating history with one of her jumps. The ROC is an Olympics-approved cover for the Russian federation which is on probation for doping of its athletes. Reports are that the Russians still aren't complying. If the doping charge is prosecuted, the ROC may forfeit their medal.
What this will mean, of course, is unknown at the moment. Kaliyeva is favored to win the Gold.
And the Chinese press is having a field day criticizing Uzuru Hanyu's claim of a hole in the ice causing him to miss a jumping element in his short program. The Chinese are apparently very proud of their ice and think Hanyu is just seeking an excuse.
