We went to the arboretum again today. Spring is moving along, and it will soon be too hot to go outside.

Ordered in a BLTA and ate that - very good. Allergies continue. Then had to go get a rapid test at the theater - negative.

A BLTA sounds really good.

I guess they don't have an enclosed section for those hot summer days.

DR JOHN G what is a castration musical?

A musical in which one of the plot lines deals with the castration or potential castration of a character. In Chee-Chee, it's a leading character, as I recall. The Knife is another castration musical, or just a transgender musical. Splitting hairs?

I pulled out a pair of shorts for the first time this year.

Back from a lovely day visiting with my high school friend. We walked. We ate. We talked. It's like the intervening years never happened!

I love it when that happens.

Watching Cavalli's opera, Il Giasone, based on a wacked out version of Jason and the Golden Fleece. The baroque melodies are lovely. I think Jason is a countertenor, which might make it fitting for the subject of castration musicals.

Here's the obituary of Yuriko, a 102-year-old dancer who lived an amazing life, including a few stops on Broadway.

So far, only one person from our cast has tested both positive and negative in the home test - so PCR for him and then we'll see what happens. We talked about postponing a week and only doing a five-week run but I think that would be difficult to rearrange Richard Allen's schedule, which took him ages to make work. We'll try to mush ahead. I have never in all my years of making theater, run into a production with this many cast issues. I hope this is the last of them because I'm not going to open the show unless it's ready to open. Minimally, I'll make them reschedule the reviewers to the second week.

Listening to the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra's entire output - interesting stuff, much of which I've never heard.

Uploading is a big ol' chore because the external CD drive doesn't work on the big boy computer, but does work on the laptop. So, I have to transfer to the laptop, then put it on a thumb drive, then bring the thumb drive back to the big boy computer and transfer it into Music. Too many damn steps.

DR Elmore, let me know what you think of BELFAST.  I am not sure if I want to see it or not.
