I had a frustrating evening. I had wanted to watch the Abbott & Costello Hold That Ghost, only the DVD is faulty, would not play. So we watched Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein, a film I've loved for the past 60 years. I watched about half of it before I decided to watch some MSNBC. I'll finish it tonight. Fiddling with that bad DVD for too long screwed up my schedule, so I took my bedtme meds about an hour later than usual. I channel surfed for a bit and ended up watching the Marin Alsop program on PBS. I quite enjoyed it, and I liked her more than I expected. I had only heard in gay circles - the men's chorus and String Fever sometimes performed on thew same bill - during her days with her lesbian women's group String Fever that she was an unpleasant lady. Perhaps the info was jaundiced or perhaps she's mellowed now that she's doing what she really wanted, but I found her quite wonderful and someone I'd like to know.
