So a friend of mine sent me an Instagram link to an Asian broadcast of the Oscars that didn't silence the audio between Will Smith and Chris Rock.  It sounds like Chris crossed a line.  If anyone wants to hear it (it's after Chris' "joke"), here it is:

I did a few spot checks on the Oscars just to see if they were getting to the necrology.

And then I watched the horrendous mess.  Whatever possessed anyone to think it would a good idea to have a line of dancers doing whatever that dance was while remembering the dead?

And WHY were there special moments for just a few folks?  Betty White was a much-beloved TV STAR...NOT a movie star!  And Ivan Reitman?  Over some of the other highly notables?  Gimmeabreak.

I've been touting CODA, as you all know, for months, long before anyone even knew what it was - here, on Facebook, castigating SAG members for not even bothering to watch it - which they weren't - but eventually all of us who were first responders, got the word out, and then it became the little movie that could.

Has either Smith or Rock or anyone from the Academy said anything?

So, if it started at five, this "streamlined" Oscars came in at three and a half hours?

Having another sandwich. One for lunch, one for dinner - that's kind of normal.

Smith and Rock have been doing this "thing" for years - many vids on YouTube from five and six years ago. Everyone thinks it was real. Did Smith say anything about it in his speech?

He yelled something from the audience afterward, but they cut the sound, so I have no idea what was actually said.

Will said, ”Keep my wife’s name out of your fucking mouth.”
