This cake is calling my name. But not the meringue topping.

I'm not given to being gloomy, necessarily, but every time I leave the house lately, I'm thinking, in the back of my mind, is this the day I'll get carjacked? Shot? These things are happening all the more frequently, at least around here.

That's terrible. Have you thought about moving to another area? I admit, I keep my car key separate from my house keys so that if I'm carjacked the thief won't have my house keys--just my car.

Vibes for a safe neighborhood and more peace of mind!

Sorry about your Access-a-Ride issues, DR elmore3003. I hope everything that needs to be done can be done remotely.

Ditto. Damn those cab drivers!

Ron, were you uninjured from your fall?

Vibes that no recovery is needed.

The home test says: Covid NEGATIVE.

Good news! Glad to have those home tests.

Maybe a fraction of the meringue served on the side.

For DR CHAS SMITH and DR RON PULLIAM and any other curious HHW'er here is the Teakwood 1934 Ford Pickup replica on the wheelbase of a 1970 Opal.

Interesting vehicle.

Jack, have you lost more weight? Great photo of you.

What benefits will Will Smith actually lose by resigning from the Academy?

THE MARVELOUS MRS MAIZEL season 4 is available now on Amazon Prime. I'd watched the first three seasons prior to the Covid shutdown, but after two years I don't recall enough. I think I'll watch season 3 again before continuing with season 4.

Mostly been relaxing today. Hoping we have a nice house and happy audience tonight. Had a burger from a new jernt nearby - pretty good. Some fries, too.

Thank you, DR Jrand71. That is quite the marriage of a horse and a cow. Love the teak. It's like the classic motorboat I always - well, sometimes - dreamed of having. And how great that you could pass it on to someone, especially someone who knew it, so effortlessly.

Started watching a really twisted movie called Raw. Don't know if I can get an hour into it tonight. Definitely not for Jane. It has to do with a 16-year-old vegetarian going off to college to become a vet. The hazing week activities are enough to drive her insane.

Back from the show and partay. Not as good as last night - one actor was consistently befuddled, and then we lost a mic on our leading man, but he's such a pro he just projected and was fine. We have an emergency plan now should that happen again. Once again, our sound guy who promised he'd be with us for the entire show, left after act one. And before leaving he muted the sound effects channels so we missed the three fx cues - sloppy. Enough of it was fine and the audience seemed to really like it and cheered several numbers. Pretty full house, too - a little different than the twenty people I was told had made reservations. Party was fun. So, on to tomorrow night, which will really be stressful, as it's the one night the gal who's operating sound can't do it. We'll see how that goes, but her replacement has been shadowing her for three nights and actually operated the second act tonight. My fear is that if something fails she won't know what to do. I'm really thinking we should have a professional back-up person on stand-by at all times.
