We all slept well last night. Thatch moved back from his latest sleeping spot on my computer chair to next to me. Annabelle spent much of the night nestled between my lower back and knees under the blankets, and Stella moved from spot rto spot on the bed.

I haven't seen Murphy's Romance in over thirty years, but I remember that I liked it very much. How can one not love a James Garner movie? Was he ever bad?

I always thought Somewhere in Time was a ripoff of Jack Finney's wonderful Time and Again. Matheson's novel was punblished in 1991; Finney's fantastic book in 1970. Why has this novel never been made into a film?

One of my very dearest New York friends who retired and moved back to Milwaukee, his hometown, is fading from cancer and in hospice. His sister writes that he has taken a turn for the worst and stopped eating. He could use some vibes for an easy passing.

I’m glad I saw Spike Lee’s Oldboy first. It’s a fine movie. It simply doesn’t hold a candle to the original, which is even more absurd, more over the top, more outrageous in ways I can’t describe. But Lee’s movie managed to find a heart beating in there.
