Then you're eating it late!

Perhaps it was a sale item on clearance?

This year is swimming by so fast.

The geese out in the pond are squawking and carrying on loudly. They think they own the place, I reckon.

Don't you love how I expressed two completely unrelated thoughts in the post above, and yet there is a word in the first thought that can be applied to the subjects of the second thought?

I first learned the name Bruce Pohomac when I interviewed Josh Logan. He was writing the score for a musical version of Huck Finn that the two were working on. Then Roger Miller’s Big River happened, Logan died a few years later and the show disappeared.

Many vibes for Bruce, his family and Larry.

I've had a lovely bath, but I had to fight Annabelle and Stella for it, since they regard it as their domain.

Why do our fingers have fingertips, yet our toes don't have toetips?

Yet, you can tiptoe and not tipfinger.

Why is it that when you transport something by car, it's a shipment, but when you transport something by ship, it's cargo?

My doctor detected some elevated numbers in my liver test and wants to do a cat scan....MEOW.

And of course I am changing insurance providers.....he would like it done between May 13-20.....so I am hoping I get my information from the new company by then.

Sending wishes and vibes for good results in all respects, scheduling and testing and processing of the insurance changeover!

I was surprised to read in Paul Ford's book, he so completely closed the door on some people.

I did dishes. Then baked my Dolly Parton cake. It looks and smells lovely. I’m glad I read the instructions. The buttercream frosting with added milk and sugar would melt in this heat. Have to modify that.

From John:
Quote

I preordered Book Woman’s Daughter. Any more suggestions?

She will probably read it before I do.  Please let me know if she likes it.

Hmmm, I liked the book I just finished.  Considering the subject there is a lot of killing.  There is the true story of Mila Pavlichenko's friendship with Eleanor Roosevelt while in the US to promote goodwill, and war help, from our government.  Mixed in with that portion of the story is a suspenseful, completely fiction story of an attempt on the president's life.

A book with a happy ending.....

Grayson by Lynne Cox
"The true story of long-distance swimmer Lynne Cox's ocean encounter with an 18-foot baby whale and her efforts to reunite "Grayson" with his mother - part mystery, part magical tale."  She was 17 years old at the time.

From Bruce:

Back from a great show with an absolutely fantastic audience - a little over half a house, which was fine, but they were so vocal and so with the show - cheering and numbers got the biggest applause they've ever gotten. Really fun.

Wonderful :)

What frosting did you decide to use?  Would a cream cheese frosting work?
