DR Elmore, is that the new version of The Fantasticks we heard about maybe a year ago, I wonder? Or was that some additional one that Mr. Jones was announcing at the time? And who can keep track?

I don't know, but I think this all-gay version is ridiculous, and Tom needs to stop revising a perfect show.

From George:
Quote
I'm still waiting for Jim Butcher's second book in the Cinder Spires series.  Book 1 came out in 2015.  It's now 2022 and still no book 2. :-\

I like when I begin a series after the last book has been released.

I didn't hear about Jim Butcher's Codex Alera series until several years after it was finished.  It only had six books and definitely ended.

Was it good?  I never got around to reading The Dresden Files, maybe because of the controversy surrounding them.

I enjoyed both the Codex Alera series and the single Cinder Spires book.  They're also both in the fantasy realm and not sci-fi.

Thanks.  I read fantasy as well as sci-fi.

And what controversy??

"Jim Butcher is most often called out for his writing in The Dresden Files. The books are criticized repeatedly by readers for being homophobic, even when they say they're trying not to be. Sex, sex acts, sexual assaults of all levels, and sexism is rampant in both The Dresden Files and Codex Alera."

Maybe you think these people should lighten up ;)

For breakfast I have swapped out cereal for yogurt with blueberries in the hope it will lower my A1C score.  If it goes up I will cross the line from pre-diabetic to diabetic.

The problem is, I need to eat goat yogurt.  Actually I prefer Redwood Hills Farm Plain Goat Milk Yogurt to other brands so eating it isn't the problem.  Finding it is.  Today we went to the one store that usually has it in stock and they were out of it.  Now I am out of it.

Either way, it sounds unpromising.

Entering the last half-hour of Valentino and the picture has flipflopped all over the place in terms of wretched excess. A truly hilarious sex scene, some interesting tango dancing, some bad acting, typical Ken Russell.

From a new collection, Dr. Seuss Goes to War, his WWII editorial cartoons. All too relevant today.

I was just informed that I now have to go back to the office 10 days a month. That makes no sense. Eight maybe. But 10?

How long a drive is it to work?

It’s 12 miles. Takes 45 minutes at least in the morning, 90 minutes in the evening.

Can you alter your hours and come in early and leave early?

Maybe. I want to see, too, if I can work half-days at the office.

I have started the musical version of Cyrano with Peter Dinklage. I like a lot of things about it, but I don't love it. I wish I did. I love the story. The director, I think, may be partly to blame.

The lackluster score is also a problem.

I never noticed that with either series...but maybe because I wasn't specifically thinking about it.  I don't know. :-\

It's all about carbs...lower your carb intake (in any form) and lower your A1C.
