Musical director has - Covid. Trying to replace him now - if we can't, we may have to cancel. Even if he tests negative on Monday at the end of his quarantine, I don't think my singers will want to be anywhere near him.

Oh God, another Covid problem. I hope it works out.

Talked with Mom earlier. She sounded much better. She also was no longer really cold. So, I'm hoping she turned a corner.

Glad to hear she's progressing so soon. Vibes for continued improvement.

To avoid reading all the sad news of today I have lost myself in a novel that takes place in Britain, and beyond, during WW2 ;D

WWII is cheerier than the contemporary US? If the film and fiction covering that period is any indication I think people coped better then than many do today. I've always found strength in reading (or viewing) WWII stories. They went through so much!

I now have an orderly bookcase, still two books deep, with bins in front of it full of more books and ephemera. It looks sooo much better! BUT, what do I now do with the two big piles of books that didn't fit?? Harrummpphh!

Can you donate them to your local library?  Or to a senior center?  Or sell 'em on eBay??

I have one bag of books in good condition to donate to one of the local libraries. They're picky about what they'll accept, so the well-worn books will be taken to the Goodwill. I could probably sell some on eBay or Amazon, but don't want the bother.

Another day is done!  Cannot brag about any of my activities today.  Went nowhere, but I did move my recyclable bin to roadside for tomorrow morning's pickup.

I am doing my physical therapy exercises, but there is still a good deal of weakness and some pain in my left leg that puzzles me.  I guess I am going to have to rely on that to-be-scheduled MRI to figure out what is really wrong.

Although...I have heard acupuncture is often helpful, and the recent talk about this practice has made me think I should attempt to find a reliable practitioner just to see if some of this pain can be relieved.

I have found acupuncture helpful for many conditions, but especially for pain. Strengthening the muscles is important, but by reducing the pain you can exercise more comfortably and more effectively. Vibes you find someone who helps you.

I wish everyone pleasant dreams when it is your time to flirt with the sandman!

Good night, good health and good dreams.

"Flirt with the sandman." What a great phrase! Gives me a new perspective on falling asleep.

I have spent the entire day in mourning.  I just can’t get past yesterday’s massacre.

I felt bad enough last week because my dear friend Kelly is from Buffalo.

But this tragedy outdoes almost all of the other mass shootings for the past ten years.

And now, ten years later, our hearts have been crushed again.

My friend Sharry and I often say that we are so grateful to be old.  We both agree that we would hate to be going out and starting our adult lives in this often sick we are living in now.

Now, I have to say that I am glad I am old, because I would hate to be a ten year old student facing going to our schools today.

I can't imagine having to do that, either.

May God bless us all at this site.  Don’t worry if you don’t believe in God, because I do, and I am the one that is doing the praying!

And now, for something completely different...for those of you (like me) who enjoy such things, here's part 1 of Patti LuPone on Stephen Colbert's show last night:

Someone has to do something. The current Republican party should be held responsible, but nothing will change because, as I said earlier, they need those huge donations from the NRA. Someone, someday, can explain why a kid, just shy of his eighteenth birthday, was allowed to purchase to AK whatever they are. In what universe is that okay.

Tonight I watched the first act of the stage musical of HOLIDAY INN.  The reason is simple. Their production number of “Chasing the Blues Away” is one of only things that can make me smile again.

The other would, of course, be Brent Barrett and Michael Jeter doing “We’ll Take a Glass Together.”
