DR ELMORE I am sorry I was not clear in my post.....my neighbor Sherry passed away last night.....she was gone when they went into her house.....her last Facebook message was to a friend about 10 a.m. yesterday morning.....and they went to her house about 10 p.m. last night.....

One more day of this oppressive heat, then RAIN!!! and cooler temps. Well, high 80s instead of high 90s. We had a bit of rain this morning, but it didn't last long. It did cool things down a bit, though.

The laundry was piling up, so I washed a load of clothes. By the time I was done it was simply too hot to be outside. (Community laundry room, which one has to access from outside.) It's been difficult to do anything outside.

My mom is going to have some minor surgery in the early afternoon.

Being a retired nurse, she didn't feel that she'd really have any problem with playing cards after the minor surgery, but my sister and niece thought that she should take the time afterward and just relax.

It wasn't too bad, except that it had been out for a while and the sauce had evaporated a bit, so it was a little more sticky than it probably would've been if it had been absolutely fresh.
