Then, I found all the records on Amazon to see what the "real" price would be, and it came to $533.69!! :o

Wow!

Our Safeway closed yesterday.

Permanently?? :o

It was a possibility if the Kroger/Albertson merger had happened.

Oh.  We've got a Fred Meyer and a Safeway right across the street from each other. :-\

I bet one of those would have been gone.

Our Safeway is close to the gym and convient to stop at on our way home.  It is also smaller and faster than our Fred Meyer.

Our Fred Meyer is also on the way home, and a short drive from us.

It is nice to have two different options as they often one has an item that the other one doesn't have.

Today is Boxing Day. Here it is also Tossing Day. So much has piled up! Today I am tackling paper — old mail that I set aside for some reason.

It is nice, though, to be getting rid of more.

Must resume while I’m still in a ruthless mood.

Oh, btw, I’ve been listening to the soundtrack to The Chorus, a lovely French film from France. I recommend both the film and the soundtrack.

If Kroger takes over Albertson's/Safeway, we'll only have Kroger and one other grocery chain here. There's an Albertson's that is in walking distance, but it is way more expensive than Kroger.

I don't count Walmart as a grocery chain, since the one time we bought meat there, it had to be thrown out. There was something very wrong with it.

And the Albertson's near me would be closed permanently if Kroger takes over.

I loved the movie The Chorus. And the music too. Thanks for the reminder, Jeanne.
