I slept rather well. The weather's getting warmer, and it's about time to remove the quilt, lauinder the bedding, and de-winterize it. I've been putting it off, because I keep expecting at least one more period of freezing weather.

I just watched the Goodwin and Mancini scores for the opening of Frenzy, one of my favorite Hitchcock films. I like Mancini's score better because it sets up at once the sinister mood of a film about a serial killer, and we expect with that title and Hitchcock it's going to be a somewhat sinister movie. Goodwin's music, which sounds more like something a band would play at the ceremony in the opening sequence on the Thames rather than a film with a serial killer and comic interludes sounds more "Welcome to London!"

Amazon Fresh, to be delivered between 6:00 and 8:00a.m., arrived at 6:15! I had just begun dishing out the Fancy Feast when the delivery man rang my bell. I didn't expect it for another 45 minutes. The delivery time is usually 7:00-7:30.

Well, the big day has finally arrived.

I feel like I've been in Foggy Bikini Bottom Under a Sea for the better part of a year, and today is ... MY VERY LAST DAY THERE.

A matinee (which, I must say, ain't no Pinter play), then getting well fed by parents who do a bang-up job of providing a wonderful buffet in between, and the closing performance. A few minutes of par-tay-ing afterwards, and I'll be outta there.

Have you ever been so exhausted and desperate for sleep that you actually can't fall asleep?

It had been years since I'd last experienced that, but it happened to me last night. I had to force myself to lie down and concentrate on the soft music from the classical station until my body finally relaxed enough to drop off. And then I gave myself an extra hour and a half this morning. Because I needed it. And now I'm beginning to feel human again, which somebody should make into a song.

I have discovered a couple of rare Allison Hayes performances on YouTube.

I watch Sovereign Citizen traffic stops although they irritate me.

And stupid guilty people who fight the police when they are caught doing illegal things.

Looking forward to the Frenzy examples, which I'll be able to take the time tomorrow to enjoy.

The oh-so-British pompous and staid (to my ears) main title music was a bit of a put-off on my seeing the film opening night at the Cinerama Dome. I was okay with his scoring of the more suspenseful set pieces in the movie, but even there I'd wished for better.
