This IS a question that others on another chat area have wondered about, and I'm wondering whether - for Ask BK Day - anyone here has thoughts on this:

This number on Colbert

was Audra McDonald performing "Some People" - with just the spoken line for Papa thrown in by the conductor.

But before the number and after the number, Colbert clearly calls it a performance by "Audra McDonald and the Broadway company of GYPSY". Is there a business reason for describing who's performing the number that way? (Maybe how much people are paid, or anything like that?)
