Happy Sunday!  On the new episode of the Broadway Radio Show, D.C. Anderson chats about his love of acting, singing, songwriting, as well as his new album Songs Stay Sung!  And make sure to check out last week's show as I chat with Tony Award nominees David Yazbek & Erik Della Penna about their score for Dead Outlaw, the quirky, wild musical nominated for 7 Tony Awards tonight!

A gracious good Sunday morning, all.

It has not escaped my attention that I was entirely remiss -- Oh! Yes!  I was "remiss" -- about posting yesterday.

I blame the fact that I arose much earlier than usual so that I could drive to Cook's Roadside Produce Stand and grab a few items I have been longing for all week.  One, a strawberry cake baked by Phil Trotter, The Cake Man hereabouts.  I have previously enjoyed his sour cream pound cakes.  He brings many cakes with him to Cook's on Saturday mornings and is usually sold out by the time I have previously made it there.  I arrived at 8 a.m. and he had about a dozen cakes stacked on his table!!

In addition, a local sourdough baker had set up a table with various loaves and rolls.  I bought a loaf of sourdough.  I look forward to trying it.

Add to all that cucumbers, cherry tomatoes and red and yellow peppers.

I was home by 9:30 a.m., and I settled in for the rest of the day.  I made a wonderful salad for my lunch, and I managed to delay eating a piece of strawberry cake until last night around 8 p.m.  It was a struggle but it was worth it!

That was my day.  I didn't even go to the post office.

In ninety minutes, or so, I will be having my weekly Zoom chat with various folks who have been chatting each Sunday since March 2021.

We are a motley crew, but we enjoy it!

My eggs were one of the affected brands and expired June 19. Tossed them. Thanks to George for the heads up. Had four scrambled yesterday. You can cook the eggs well but still have issues if hands and surfaces weren’t properly cleaned.

I would have done the same. I just didn't want everyone to throw out all their eggs if they weren't affected.

I always overcook eggs. I hate bleeding eggs.

I’m with you. I’m told I am not allergic to eggs, but undercooked eggs can cause my throat to close up. I try to force down water, which causes it to abate, but I don’t like the feeling.

Our reservation for Mama’s Fish House is today at 2:30, which is when the Tonys will be on. Look forward to your comments. I really want Jasmine Amy Rogers to win. And I want to see the number from Buena Vista Social Club.

This looks like the actual brand new TV commercial for the new Stephen Schwartz musical THE QUEEN OF VERSAILLES, directed by Michael Arden

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOnGlcd3NxY

- though I wonder if the close-up shot of Kristin Chenoweth's cleavage would be considered by everyone to be  "suitable for work."

I see them starting at 8:00 eastern on CBS. Don't know if there's any sort of pre-show.

I've set the DVR and will try to watch, but we'll see how it goes.

I'm well into Act 2 in testing sounds, marking up the book, and fixing a few things in the Evita programming.

There are always a few things to fix that the folks creating and renting these programs don't catch. Always. And there's nothing like having that done in advance and knowing it's truly ready to play when the time comes.

About the pre-show, singdaw had posted this earlier, from the New York Times:

"Is there a non-broadcast portion of the ceremony?
Yes. There is a preshow ceremony, starting at 6:40 p.m. Eastern, at which many of the awards for creative teams will be handed out. That event will be hosted by Darren Criss and Renée Elise Goldsberry, and can be streamed free on Pluto TV (click on the “Live Music” channel in the “Entertainment” category)."

Our TV is stashed away in the garage due to our remodeling project, which includes replacing all the carpet and wood floors. The music / entertainment room is being changed from carpet to wood floors. So no Tony watching for me tonight.

But I'm about to start watching Drat - the computer screen is reasonably big and I've got good headphones.
