A gracious good Sunday morning, all.
It has not escaped my attention that I was entirely remiss -- Oh! Yes! I was "remiss" -- about posting yesterday.
I blame the fact that I arose much earlier than usual so that I could drive to Cook's Roadside Produce Stand and grab a few items I have been longing for all week. One, a strawberry cake baked by Phil Trotter, The Cake Man hereabouts. I have previously enjoyed his sour cream pound cakes. He brings many cakes with him to Cook's on Saturday mornings and is usually sold out by the time I have previously made it there. I arrived at 8 a.m. and he had about a dozen cakes stacked on his table!!
In addition, a local sourdough baker had set up a table with various loaves and rolls. I bought a loaf of sourdough. I look forward to trying it.
Add to all that cucumbers, cherry tomatoes and red and yellow peppers.
I was home by 9:30 a.m., and I settled in for the rest of the day. I made a wonderful salad for my lunch, and I managed to delay eating a piece of strawberry cake until last night around 8 p.m. It was a struggle but it was worth it!
That was my day. I didn't even go to the post office.
