TOD: I miss sandwiches. It's such a convenient way to eat a meal.

Probably the last sandwich I ate out was on Freedom Day of 2024, where we had sandwiches at Quizno's in Las Vegas.

While I still eat them, I don't do so nearly as I used to and I miss eating them on a regular basis.

There's a Quiznos in Centralia, so I've stopped there a couple of times before rehearsals.

I haven't had Quiznos in a while because the closest is about 10 miles away from where I live (it's in between my house and the Centralia location) and just not very convenient.  But I do like Quiznos.

Topic of the Day:  I also like Jersey Mike's and Subway.  Costco sells Subway gift cards at a 20% discount, so that's an added bonus!

Locally, there's a place downtown called 5th on 4th Sandwiches and More.  I haven't been there very often, but I've always liked what I've gotten there.

Another thumbs-up for Jersey Mike's from me.  I love their Philly Cheesesteak.

I had a roast beef sandwich yesterday from Leoda’s Pie Shop. The tomato, onion, sprouts and lettuce were so good, as was the housemade wheat bread, that the roast beef was almost secondary. Almost.

Also from Leoda’s: a magnificent Reuben on homemade rye with homemade sauerkraut and a homemade thousand island dressing. Yes yes YES, as Molly Bloom would say.

TOD: The falafel pita at our local Falafel Stop is so good - freshly made Israeli-style falafel in fresh pita with a mix of veggies. They also make a great chicken shawarma. The Italian-style oven roast turkey sandwich at our local American Italian Deli is also a real winner.

But we're not a great sandwich town compared to the east coast - Philly, New York, Boston. A Philly-style roast pork with broccoli rabe and sharp provolone is heavenly.
