Tuesday morning greetings!  I don’t know where the past week went, but here we are.

Actually, I DO know.  Spent a couple of days on a health issue that’s still not resolved, then put in some hours cashiering at the AAUW garage sale.  Then our heat wave began, which means we stay in and I cook more than usual.

I am hoping that damned replacement order from Chewy.com shows up today. I have nothing to feed the cats until it shows. Thanks to Ann, she pucked up four cans of Fancy Feast for me on Sunday afternoon, and that covered us till this morning.

I just looked up first editions of Nora Johnson's original 1958 novel The World of Henry Orient. Wow! Way out of my price range

Vibes that things turn out OK with the health issue.

The building's fire alarm went off at 4:00am.

Groan.  I hope it was a false alarm.

TOD:  Breaking Away, which I saw quite a few time on its first release - but then I was still a teenager when it first came out in 1979, so that may have had an impact on my enjoying it so much

Grease - which I enjoyed on screen more than I recalled enjoying the stage musical the first time around

Both good movies.  I forgot about the wonderful Breaking Away.

Thank you for the kind words, friends. Not trying to Bora boast (too much), but this is like if you were minding your own business and an airline said, excuse me, we’d like to upgrade your flight. And you go, “ooh, first class?” And they go, no, we have your own private plane waiting for you. It’s bonkers.

My guess what happened? We wanted the same place we had a couple years ago with pool. But that was not possible because whole section of this place is under renovation. Maybe because of the renovation, it seems a little quiet here for high season. But when we arrived they didn’t have pool suites and since we are repeat customers, they said, what the hell? Give the big empty place to the Indiana hillbilly with the lovely wife and kids.

The kids mostly see it as a better Hide and Seek venue than our past hotel rooms.

Maybe not quite teens, but there’s a really fun movie made by a teenager. Don Coscarelli, who would later make the Phantasm film series, won a contest from I think Fox, to shoot his own script. The resulting Kenny and Company is an episodic look at a few days in the lives of some SoCal suburban kids prepping for Halloween, 1976.

Very interesting. It's been years since I've seen the Phantasm films, but I'd enjoy seeing that.

I had coffee with our former minister's wife. They retired a few years ago. We discussed aging problems, among other things.

Thank you for all the health vibes.  I didn’t mean to cause alarm.  This is probably not life threatening, just an annoyance.
