I don't remember reading it if he did.

I have this memory that he had dinner with Cole Porter and other folk (Merman, maybe?) at Porter's home during the creation of GYPSY.

Sondheim and Jule Styne played the Gypsy score for Porter. He was very weak at the time, but he apparently used a pipe to tap his glass to show his appreciation of the “amigos” line in “Together Wherever We Go.” Really sad and touching story.

Listening to an all-star BBC broadcast of All’s Well That Ends Well with Sian Phillips, Miriam Margolies, Richard Griffiths and Simon Russell Beale. It’s still a problematic play, but the cast helps.

This seemed curious is his discussion of Cole Porter.
He quotes this lyric

While tearing off
A game of golf,
I may
Make a play
For the caddy,
But if I do,
I don't follow through,
'Cause my heart belongs to Daddy.

Sondheim then refers to those as "eight tightly rhymed lines"

Was Sondheim of the school where "off and "golf" are close enough to be a proper rhyme?

I have more trouble with a humid heat than a dry one, though with the high temps Arizona is having I would rather deal with 82 degrees and humid.
