Yes, Point of Impact. I said Reacher wouldn't exist were it not for the success of Bob Lee.

Yes, but it didn't make since since you hadn't mentioned Bob Lee, only Shooter.  Maybe I missed that in an earlier post.

Do you mean Child's would not have come up with the idea for Reacher if he hadn't read the Hunter books, or that the Reacher books wouldn't have been as popular if it hadn't been for Bob Lee?

TOD:  the second season of The Lincoln Lawyer.  We just kept watching and watching, because we found it so compelling.  (There had been such a huge and effective surprise at the end of the first season, and I was especially interested as to whether the second season could match it in effectiveness.)

I find this interesting because we never made it to the second season.

Several days ago I was going through some old photos looking for something, and there was one in the wrong section of this file box so I took it out to move it to a better place. But I looked at it for a minute, and it brought to mind a question I've had about exactly where something in Marina del Rey had been located years ago. So I thought, who can I ask? (Actually, one or two of y'all right here might even know! So stay tuned.) I decided that one likely place to ask on Facebook would be this page about the west side of L.A. (one of those "you know you lived in..." groups). It's run by this weird autocratic guy who examines every post before approving them and who likes to rant about submissions that don't follow his various rules and such. Bill somebody. BK might recognize this. He runs that Westwood page, too.

So he released my post SIX DAYS after I'd submitted it. And what happened? In one day it's gotten over a hundred "likes" and nearly that many comments. A couple of people even came close to answering the question I asked. But everyone loved the picture and it generated interest from a few different angles. (It's a shot I took while out flying one day, so other pilots got involved, too.) And I thought, if that one picture can inspire that much actual conversation, and thus far all of it positive, then I'm sitting on a gold mine here. I know I have things that should be scanned and posted, and once in a blue moon I do a couple of things, but then a lot of time goes by before moving on to others. I will also pat myself on the back for not just throwing a picture up there, but for providing some *accurate* detail and context to help inspire the responses I was looking for. Man, I'm good. Anyhoo, give me a few minutes and I'll post it here.

I'm in "You know you grew up in West Los Angeles if you remember.......".  I think you are referring to the group I dropped out of, "You know you grew up on the Westside of Los Angeles if....".  Yup, I found it along with your post.

I rarely went to Marina Del Rey back then and don't remember Mr. D's Coffee Shop.  I asked Keith and he doesn't remember it either.

LINCOLN LAWYER SEASON ONE POSSIBLE SPOILER

Did you make it to the end of the first season where the whole plot (who was the villain, who was the hero or heroine) got turned on its ear at the end of the final episode?

I love William Daniels, and he has been since August 1969 - when I saw 1776 at the 46th Street Theatre - the definitive John Adams. I met him during my Barnes & Noble days when he was in the store. What a nice man.

I loved MR BK's story about his encounter with Mr. Daniels.

But I cannot help but think EXCEPT for his ego - his eventual might have read.....Tony Winner.....instead.....Voice Of Kitt.

DR JOHN G I still think Jerry Orbach would have won.

We did not.  Keith really disliked the show and I had problems with the lead actor, mostly because suddenly he has an accent.

In the novels I liked when there was a crossover with Bosch, and of course that is never going to happen in the tv series.

DR CHAS SMITH I love the photo and I am glad you are getting a positive response.

EVERYONE should post photographs that they have from the past on the internet to share with everyone else.....you never know who might be waiting for that EXACT photo.

Definitely could find subreddits on Reddit dedicated to these pursuits.

Trying to schedule a neurology appointment. I don't think the blood test results are so good. Suspect is myasthenia gravis, which I wish were spelled differently. Apparently that would affect muscles in the eye and mouth. I had the neurology referral, which I hadn't done until my doctor had analyzed the results. This makes me nervous.

Since the visit is listed as urgent, apparently Cedars can't get me in urgently (weird to me) so they're reaching out to other providers in their network. I said I wanted someone who knows what they're doing and who has a top rating, otherwise I'll wait.

Suspect is myasthenia graves, which I wish were spelled differently.

If it is that, it's common enough that it's easily treatable, isn't it?

Interesting.  I never really noticed similarities between them, except that they are both ex-military. I also read the Reacher books first.  Maybe if I had read Swagger when they first came out, and then Reacher, I would have had a different reaction.

Just read up on it. Gravis is the preferred spelling. I'm changing it in the other post. Also, every symptom I have screams that this is what it is - drooping eyelid, double vision, mouth and face muscles. I mean, there you are.
