Laura, I remember it VERY well. ABC Movie of the Week, it aired the night after my 22nd birthday in 1969 just before we moved back to LA from NY. Great cast - Don Murray, Ray Milland, Ed Asner, my Facebook friend Pamelyn Ferdin and lots of other good actors. Now I must watch it this evening.

Walter Grauman was a very good director - Lady in a Cage was his and lots of TV movies. Nick Redman and I met him at the DGA and he was bowled over that we knew him and his work and that I'd issued the soundtrack for Lady in a Cage.

Then in 1976, the year before my dad retired, we drove that Chevy Malibu station wagon from Colorado to Washington where it eventually died.

Another great trip.

This time, we had Spot, the stray cat that we adopted, along for the ride.

Wow, did Spot make it safely home with you?

Yup.  He was with us for a few years before he died.  He was a good cat.

Pamelyn Ferdin was in quite a few things. Seems like she was quite a child actress in demand.

As I remember. I was just a kid.

Bruce, I agree with you regarding High Society.  Because of Frank & Bing I'm not a big fan of the movie.  I much prefer The Philadelphia Story.

I much prefer Philadelphia Story to High Society, except for the Cole Porter songs. Trivia: playing in the background of both movies during the party scene is an instrumental version of I’ve Got My Eyes on Uou, a song from Broadway Melody of 1940. George Clooney used the song in Good Night, and Good Luck.

If you like Pamelyn, go to her personal page on Facebook and friend her - she loves to have more and more friends. Her other page under her full name isn't as much fun. She looks great, BTW. Her personal page is PamPam or Pam Pam.

Had carbonara for food - from Cheesecake Factory - not great but not bad. Couldn't finish it. Didn't eat any bread.

I see that I have two mutual friends with her.  I like that she is a vegan and animal rights advocate.

This is the last week of Stanford Theatre's Hitchcock festival, so tonight it's Marnie and The Trouble With Harry. I know I haven't seen Marnie, and I don't think I've seen Harry either.

Did you see the opera version of Marnie at the Met? It was one of their simulcasts.

Unlike DR John, we found The Friend sad and depressing.  We felt terrible for the dog and the life he was leading.
The acting was fine.

Wasn’t that kind of the point? The dog was sad. He’d been abandoned twice and was expecting it again. She was sad. And they had to find each other.

And it was a dog movie where the dog doesn’t die at the end, which was handled in a great way.

Watching James Garner and Lee Remick in The Wheeler Dealers. It’s not very good, despite a cast that also includes Jim Backus, Chill Willis, Louie Nye, John Astin, Phil Harris and every other character actor on the lot. Fun DeVol score.
