Finishing up David Copperfield. I must reread the book again, though Dora is so insipid that I wish I could just cut her from the novel.

LOL.  The last time I read the book I learned to appreciate her good qualities. 

In the dramatized version, her only quality was breathing her last.

Which version did you watch?  Yes, her best qualities are at the end as she seems to have insight to what David really needed, more than he did   It really wasn't fair to her that he expected more from her than she was capable of doing.

It was a BBC radio adaptation. No watching. But the cast included Miriam Margolyes and Timothy Spall.

I give up.  I've been trying to find a commercial with Susan, maybe from 1950, which I think is a shampoo commercial.  I should remember this as I found it when we lived in Ashland, but then she might have told me what product it was.

I say hair because I remember when it aired and I told her I liked her hair in the commercial and she should always where it that way.  Susan was unimpressed   When I watched it again I can see why.  Still, she did look very pretty in it.

I thought it might have been for White Rain as I think she was holding an umbrella in the commercial.

I'm tempted to message her younger sister on FB but I doubt she would remember.

It’s a long story but I took a job when I first moved to NYC as an assistant to a photographer who lived in a hotel in Mt. Kisco. She was bizarre, but every day she had appointments to show her portfolio to some of the wealthiest people in Greenwich, CT. And every day, ended the same way. Stop at Caldor and buy the most bottles of White Rain shampoo I could get for $50. And the next day, I’d show up in her hotel room to pick her up, and every bottle would be empty. Just a big pile of empty bottles. What she did with it, I’ll never know. I think if you spent all night pouring 20 bottles of shampoo directly down the drain, you couldn’t make it disappear like that.

Since using Amazon Fresh, the brand they've mainly offered has been Garnier, and that's been good.

Liam uses Pet Paw shampoo, and hasn't complained.

My sister visited us in Ashland.  I heard this loud splash from the bathroom and groaned to Keith that she put Echo in the bath.  He didn't believe that she would do such a thing.  Yup, sure enough she had.  First of all, Echo did not need a bath.  Worse was my trying to explain that dogs can't always tolerate people shampoo and Echo and that Echo was sensitive.

My sister didn't believe me and fortunately Echo was fine.  I would rather not have been believed then to have dealth with a reaction.

Your sister sounds like quite, er, something!

My brother was and is quite something, too - or at least started to be (it seems) as he neared 60.    But it may be our fault for not saying something or warning him when he told us he was marrying a woman named Lady Macbeth; that should have been a clue.

Rodzinski, I was wondering, too, whether you got paid for those three weeks.

Michael wants to get an iPhone because there's no sales tax in Oregon.  I can only assume that, in general, iPhones are cheaper in Portland than Germany.

LOL.  I wonder which will cost more, the gas or the tax.

He said that it would be about $200 MORE in Germany for the same phone!  AND the no sales tax is a big bonus!

That's a big difference.  We also buy our phones over the border.  Did he put a hold on the phone he wants and make sure it is internationally friendly?

Larry asked one of the Apple workers about Michael taking it to Germany and the guy said that they're unlocked and can be used anywhere.

I don't know which one we went to, but Pioneer Place doesn't sound familiar.

If by some chance you've been following the going-on with the London musical BURLESQUE (based on the Cher-starred movie), this felt to me like a well-told story of the social media intrigue.  It's about 20 minutes, but some good gossip, including about famed songwriter Diane Warren, who wrote the hit song from the movie "You Haven't Seen the Last of Me"

We parked close to the Apple store, and were able to walk to Powell's.  We were running out of time on the parking, so we drove to Voodoo, even though it was less than a mile away from where we had originally parked.
