TOD:I complained about documentaries the other day but just watched a really good, simply done one about the ill-fated original Roger Corman Fantastic Four movie. Worth your time if, like Elmore with his Toyland stuff, you ever worked on a project that came to naught for reasons beyond your control.https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8miwKH_84zU&pp=ygUhZG9vbWVkIGZhbnRhc3RpYyBmb3VyIGRvY3VtZW50YXJ5
I swear a different musician is dying every day now and it is always swinging wildly between genres.

R.I.P. Cleo LaineCleo Laine, Britain's most successful jazz singer, dies aged 97https://www.theguardian.com/music/2025/jul/25/cleo-laine-britain-jazz-singer-john-dankworth-dies
Every time I see the name of this series "Code of Silence" https://www.imdb.com/title/tt30249123/I can't help thinking of the Cone of Silence on GET SMART.
Two interesting things happene yesterday afternoon, both possible sources of income. I got an email from the Packard Humanities Institute about (finally!) releasing the John McGlinn recordings from London, 2001. Then, I got a call from Phil Chan, one of my collaborators on the ballet Star on the Rise, about a fee to use sections of the ballet score in a documentary on ther making of the ballet.
It hit 100 yesterday. I’m hoping there’s no repeat.
John Dankworth did the music for The Servant, and Cleo was his wife, I just learned.
One nice postscript is the guileless cast of the Corman Fantastic Four film have all been given cameos in the new FF film.
