Our weather forecast is similar to that one that DR CHAS SMITH wrote about.

Fingers crossed that it is correct.

When OUR TOWN (which debuted in 1938) goes into public domain in 2034, all versions will be allowed without the OK of the Thornton Wilder estate.

I CAPTURE THE CASTLE was published in 1948, so when the novel goes into public domain, Peter's family and his collaborators would be able to proceed with the musical.

I didn't realize until now that Dodie Smith also write 101 DALMATIONS.

DR John G., try a Bucket of Doom for the mosquitoes.

It's a bucket of standing water with a mosquito disk in it. The mosquitoes are attracted to the murky water to lay eggs, but the larvae will die.

It won't kill the current mosquitoes, but it will cut down on the offspring.

Put it away from the house or patio.

I have a demo CD of Grover’s Corners, which I enjoyed. Need to listen to it again.

It's some kind of bacteria that kills the larvae. It won't hurt fish or birds or dragonfly larvae.

Mosquitoes like standing water, such as what you get after extended rain. Dump out anything that holds water. You can drop a disk into fountains or birdbaths, or whatever you do want to keep.

A Bucket of Doom is a bucket you let get icky and it attracts the mosquitoes to lay eggs in it.

We've had no rain for a month here, and the little we did get earlier was not enough to get the mosquito population up. But in years we have good rains in the summer, the mosquito population booms.

We should have tried that in Ashland.  We did have mosquito eating fish in the pond that helped some.

We had a good bat population at our Ashland home.  I preferred sweeping bat guano to dealing with mosquitoes.
