I also read The Sword of Shannara early in high school.

I still haven't read this.

Cherry, always.

But Twizzlers?  There are so many better brands out there.

Back from a nice breakfast with R. Yacko and then a visit to a new bookstore - new to the Valley anyway - it's called The Last Bookstore and their main branch for many years is downtown. This one's in Studio City and very nice.

Great name.

We went to Costco today.  I expected to see Christmas decorations but only saw large ones for Halloween.  We did not walk around that part of the store so it is possible there were Christmas decorations mixed in there.

TOD - The Cardinal by Henry Morton Robinson.  I’d been reading “malt shop” romances until my friend Christine shared her copy of the movie tie-in paperback when we were in 9th grade.  The childbirth scene was especially eye-opening.  Other books I remember from this era were Marjorie Morningstar by Herman Wouk and Joy in the Morningby Betty Smith.

Finishing up a collection of Elmore Leonard’s western stories. The last is 3:10 to Yuma. Good story. But the original movie was better.
