Yes, I was the designated grass mower. And driveway shoveler. And cat box cleaner-upper.

Books are being published. Millstones are being accumulated. Puns are being drop-bombed.

Living in apartments all the years, I guess we got off easier chore-wise.

Today's TOD:

I have to say we were fairly undisciplined as a household. My mom and dad took care of things, and they probably could have used much more help from my sister and me than they ever got, but I don't remember them ever establishing any kind of routine. We were certainly roped into helping with the dishwashing and drying now and then. We had to keep our rooms cleaned or straightened up. I don't recall any outdoors-y stuff. My dad always pushed the lawnmower around, himself.

We have the kindle and paperback of BK's book.  Can't wait for the hardcover to come from Kritzerland with the special BK extra!

DR Elmore - That's too bad about the title illustration. I wonder what drove that decision. It wasn't just a mistake, was it?

Do you have a clean JPG or PDF of it? I'm thinking that those who desire to could print it and lay it inside the physical book.

Is the JPG I posted yesterday good enough? I think what I mind the most is that I was not consulted about the decision.

I have taken it and done exactly as DR ChasSmith suggested.

singdaw, do all those tasks you were assigned in your youth mean you were something of an athlete, growing up?

Not particularly, although I did compete in swimming from middle school through high school.

Our before-school workouts in the pool meant I was able to skip gym class all through high school. Worth it in itself.

How do you feel about MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication)?

Accessing the state systems that I do, from home, means that I currently have 3 different apps (code generators) on my phone that I have to use to access all the systems I need for work.

DR George, do you still work? I don't think you've mentioned the library in any of your posts for at least a year now.

That sounds great for you!  And that probably was at least as good for your health as the gym classes.

My favorite thing about gym class in elementary school was square dancing

And I pretty much hated everything else. Especially basketball when the teams were designated by "shirts or skins."

Probably did more for fitness than handball or basketball.

I also liked the parachute game. It involved everyone sitting in a circle, and something about being tagged and having to run around the perimeter of the circle before the parachute collapsed.
