We got to the Burbank airport early, and a flight to Phoenix was just about to start boarding, so they let us rebook at no extra charge.

My ticket on Southwest was B1. And there was no one behind me.

I made nice with the flight attendant, and she gave me extra snacks.

And I'm glad we are not landing at 10 p.m. That's way past this old gal's bedtime.

We harvested tannat grapes for more than four hours.

What type of wine will they be used for and was this a volunteer job?

Tannat by itself and a blend. Tannat is an ancient varietal from France that is highly tannic and is considered to be good for you because it is high in resveratrol.

I like the premise of 36 Hours. James Garner is a major during WWII who has been kidnapped by Germans who are playing with his mind. They want info on D-Day and are trying to make him believe it happened six years earlier.

I’m just not exactly sold on the movie itself.

As to Miracle Mile, yes, very quirky, original and all shot in LA just before they began tearing everything down.

Watched a movie that I'd only seen the start of - and just really liked it a lot. The Man Who Watched Trains Go By, based on a novel by - Georges Simenon.

With today being Whitney Houston's birthday, this was a parody that back then some found in questionable taste, but maybe enough time has passed since then!

"The Hottie Guard" parody to "The Bodyguard"  -

"We've Got a Chance for Some Hottie Who's Studly"
tune of The Bodyguard's "I Want to  Dance With Somebody Who Loves Me"
https://youtu.be/Pqkd0k6quMU

That was funny, Freddie!

I actually quit my job and took some time to look for a job, then not do any job searching, but I'm officially drawing my retirement, so I have all the time in the world. :) This means I did retire earlier than normal, but the pay difference really isn't that much and it definitely was worth it.  I just got in a rut at work and couldn't get out, so I left.  But my mortgage and car are paid off, so I really don't have a lot of expenses.

Wow!  I just thought you were taking more overdue vacation days.  I did not pick up on the fact that you haven't talked about work.  When did you actually retire from your job?

Well, I quit...longer ago than I care to admit ::) but I just started drawing retirement March 31st.  That will be, of course, for the rest of my life.

Congratulations, George!

Thanks, Freddie!

Is Ambetter the same as Fidelis these days?

I don't know that. :-\

DR George, do you still work? I don't think you've mentioned the library in any of your posts for at least a year now.

Singdaw, you are quite observant...and I've avoided mentioning it because, well, I don't know why. ::)

I’ve avoided asking about it because I don’t know why either! But it sounds like a happy thing.

It definitely is.  I really enjoyed my time at the library, especially (most of ;) ) the people, but I realized that I needed to make a change.  I just didn't have a plan at the time.

I haven't started drawing Social Security yet, and by the time I do, hopefully, something will still be there. :-\

Fingers crossed it still is.  Until then, are you still using the insurance plan through the library?

No.  I was on Molina for a while when I wasn't working, but now that I'm drawing my retirement, I chose a plan through Ambetter.

I'm not really familiar with either, and have never heard of Ambetter.  Vibes you are very pleased with them.

I really do hope so.  I just looked up Ambetter and there are some not-so-great reviews. :o I'll just have to wait and see.

Wow, that "HAPPY" dance video got 1.4-BILLION views!  Wonder where they post their link, besides of course castrecl and All That Chat.

Oh, my goodness!  I've never heard of (that I can remember) a video with over a billion views!

Of course, when they stay up, they just keep getting viewed more and more often without resetting the number.

Thanks, John!.  I will (mostly) be filled with my theater-going and theater-volunteering activities. :)

Miracle Mile has Mare Winningham in addition to Anthony Edwards, right? I liked that movie.

They're married in real life.  He took over a role for a short time in The Girl of the North Country that she was starring in.

I made it to the Hill Country winery at 6:50 am. I was down the worst road imaginable. I feared my car would not make it.

Oh, my goodness! :o
