Finished with my viewing - a documentary comprised of the actual footage from the Eichmann trial, and then-contemporaneous commentary. Pretty riveting. The only thing I'd seen about it was The Man in the Glass Booth.

There are at least five movies about the discovery of him living in Brazil.

I love the actual song...especially, of course, The Manhattan Transfer's version.

Frederick is a great name because it contains six names.

Very cool!

And Leo Lionni's book, Frederick, is one of my all-time favorite children's books. :)

I'd read/heard at one time that "Elizabeth" is the name that has the most nicknames.

I sort of stared at Glenn Close, slackjawed at how poorly she was directed.

That's too bad.

From Wiki on "La Bęte" -

"Its Broadway run generated a loss of $2.3 million, making it one of the biggest lossmakers for a non-musical play on Broadway at the time.

The subsequent West End production was a critical and commercial success and won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Comedy. The London cast included Alan Cumming, Jeremy Northam, Timothy Walker and Simon Treves."

I did see the more successful (I assume) Broadway version with Mark Rylance. I think I interviewed David Hyde-Pierce for that. The eternal opening monologue is the main thing i remember.

There was a local production done back in the mid '90s, and the actor that did that opening monologue was amazing.

I was wrong, I talked to Hyde-Pierce during the run of Curtains.

Very cool!

This version of the theme song is much better than the Peggy Lee version in the movie, which sounded kinda warped.

Very nice.

Starting My Favorite Things, a DVD of the concert celebrating 80 years of Rodgers and Hammerstein.

I have that DVD, too.
