DR John, I liked Before We Were Yours, as well as other books by Wingate.

I will have to look for her other books.

I thought I had read more than three of her books.  Of the three, this was by far the best one.

Browsing her other books I see why I passed on them.  Her earlier work is labeled "Christian Fiction" and I tend to shy away from those as too often I feel as if they are trying to convert me.

We spent over an hour at the bank this morning, closing out our account and opening another one. Plus all the upselling.

I’m not looking forward to it because the heat is still oppressive.

Thanks for the On The Twentieth Century link.

I love the move with John Barrymore and Carole Lombard.....the scene with all of the chalk marks on the floor during the "blocking" scene still makes me giggle with glee.

I am watching Patricia Neal Day at TCM.

The Grave Digger right now featuring a naked Nicholas Clay which is the ONLY way Nicholas Clay should be seen on screen, in photographs, or in real life.

The Fountainhead, Hud, and A Face in the Crowd coming up.

I had to deal with the execrable Samantha EggAR in Psche '59.  The woman has no talent and NO upper lip.  Most distracinting. I had to deal with her during Walk Don't Run, The Collector, and Doctor Doolittle.  BEGONE! Thank you.

Gary Cooper is NOT my idea of Howard Roark....and the final scene seems to be photographed in reversed with his clothes blowing weirdly in the wind.....but then again there has never been an satisfactory film version of ANY Ayn Rand novel....for me.

My name says it all.
