ChasSmith, I never remember the Du-Par's being there in the 60s at all, but I'm not sure I ever spent much time north of the boulevard in those days other than going to Ontra Cafeteria across the street. I should think had I been aware of it I would have gone there.

Freddie - nothing will make this proofing business, which is now going on three weeks, worth it :) But the gift card is appreciated and I'll certainly have some nice food over there, but not today. Perhaps tomorrow. They tell me other cards will be coming. Choices are always good.

Were they just underestimating how much work was involved when they asked you to do this?

The Kritzerland package arrived in the package room in the middle of the block today, but we weren't able to go over and get it today.

We do have the Kindle and paperback, but very curious about any extras coming with the hardcover copy.

I'm curious about the location of your package room.  Is this for more than one building?

I'm curious about the location of your package room.  Is this for more than one building?

Manhattan Plaza has a 9th Avenue building and a 10th Avenue building, and each building has about 900 apartments, a mix of studio apartments, one-bedrooms and two-bedrooms.

The package room is halfway down the block between 9th and 10th, and it takes care of both buildings of Manhattan Plaza (plus a few extra apartments that are along the plaza area that's between the two buildings).

I hope it is secure.  Is there an actual person who works in the room?

Yes, there are several people who work in the room. Picking up a package requires your building ID.

"The name "haboob" comes from the Arabic word haab or habūb, meaning "wind" or "strong wind". The term originated to describe the violent dust storms in Sudan, and was later adopted by American scientists in the 1970s to refer to similar, intense dust storms generated by thunderstorm outflow in the U.S."
