Food arrived. As is sometimes the case, the day chef isn't as good or attentive to instructions as the night chef - no EXTRA CRISPY today - just a bit - it was still good. The Kung Pao was not to my liking at all so most of that went in the trash.

BTW, if you feel like it, and you DO, cut and paste your Amazon review into Barnes and Noble - it would be helpful there, too.

I'm contemplating taking an extra low-dose blood pressure pill before we watch episode 5 of the rollercoaster that is THE GIRLFRIEND.

If your heart starts pounding during the Mother's half-hour, it's sure to happen again seeing the same mayhem from the Girlfriend's point of view.

That's too bad...especially about the Kung Pao!

Oh my.

Neither the mother nor the girlfriend has any redeeming social value. :) The evil writers and director terrorized us about thirty seconds in from the mother's perspective, then when the same scene came around from the girlfriend's viewpoint they nailed us again.

Skip wants to save the final episode for tomorrow to draw it out.   I'm fine with that, since I'd rather not watch this show while it's dark out.

This is terrible!  This is my review of RICHARD AND ME on Barnes and Noble, and it somehow registered as "one star."  I can't figure out how that happened!  I can't find what to do to get this fixed.  Any ideas?

Highly Recommended!
I was looking forward to this book, having been a fan (for their separate work) of both Bruce Kimmel and of Richard Sherman as far back as childhood. That these two notable figures clicked with each other professionally and as friends when chance brought them together years later makes for a well-told beautiful story full of laughter and tears, with a touch of show business challenges (from others) thrown in. I recommend this book highly!

I know on Goodreads you can delete a record of reading the book and start over.  I hope you figure this out.

DR Fred, I found this:

"You cannot directly change the star rating on an existing Barnes & Noble review; instead, you must delete your old review and post a new one with the correct star rating. To do this, submit a deletion request to reviewmoderation@bn.com with the product title, its ISBN/EAN, and your username or email address.
Steps to Change Your Rating
1. Request Deletion:
Send an email to reviewmoderation@bn.com.
Include the Product Title, EAN/ISBN, and your email address or username in the email.
Once your review is deleted, you will be able to post a new one.
2. Post a New Review:
Go to the product's page on the Barnes & Noble website.
Click the "Write your review" button.
Select the desired star rating.
Write your review.
Click "Post Review" to submit it."

Hello, everyone, from a very stressed DR Jeanne.

This escrow is driving me nuts. The difficult seller was annoying, but some of the mortgage staff are sexist, demanding, inaccurate, and just plain make me want to scream. I have been reviewing and signing documents from them non-stop, under constant pressure. FedEx envelopes arrive every morning with more documents. Now the escrow company is doing the same. I called my broker and told him it is not humanly possible to do all these at once. He will call the escrow company and tell them to back off. It’s fortunate that much of it is done electronically because it would require all the trees on earth to make so many paper documents.

We are technically on hold as the difficult seller is out of the country and has not provided HIS documents. I am going forward, anyway.

Thank you. We WILL get through this. But I may need a year at a spa after it’s over.

Bruce, I’m glad you found someplace that has your extra crispy chicken — at least some of the time. It’s so hard to lose a favorite restaurant.

There was an article in the NYT about LA’s restaurants. Covid, of course, decimated the entire restaurant industry, but we also had the writers’ strike, and now two huge fires. It’s really taken a toll.
