DR RODZINSKI after a show one night, a group of us were all invited to a party at a big nice house on North Meridian St. in Indy.

The back wall of the living room was a series of French doors that looked out onto the BIG swimming pool.

I was sitting on the couch looking outside, when a possum as big as a dog came out of the trees and just trotted around the pool.

The hostess walked by and saw it and said: "Only in Indiana......"

I don't think I answered the TOD yesterday:

Vanilla Wafers.

I'd forgotten about those.  Yes, a real favorite.

I wonder if it's too late to add Vanilla Wafers to our Amazon Fresh order.

They're so light, they must have almost no calories.

Yesterday two of my sisters Paula and Myrna came by.

I had a Great Value Rising Crust Buffalo Chicken pizza so I made that.

Myrna brought a bottle of Whipped Cream Vodka because she wanted to celebrate.

Just having Whipped Cream Vodka sounds like something to celebrate!

On Wednesday night my nephew's ex-wife - who showed up at the courthouse last week but then left. Myrna said she thinks Mindy saw me and thought I was an attorney.

Anyway....she was stopped by the police on Wednesday night - although she drove from them for several miles. They then arrested her for DUI and disorderly conduct an because she is on probation she will now have to serve her entire original sentence. Myrna didn't remember what the sentence was, but Mindy will be in the slammer for awhile....

That was fun!  Is it as non-P.C. as I think it is?

Not many people know this, but the original draft of the great Vermont song went

Possums in a pool
Falling leaves, a sycamore
Moonlight in Vermont

DR Rodzinski, do you remember where your steak dinner was in Anaheim? I used to be at the Anaheim Convention Center every January for NAMM and have fond memories of many meals with colleagues there.

It was called The Ranch, about 10 min from the Disneyland Hotel.

Friday morning greetings!  I was stunned to discover my last post was Sept. 2.  Things have been a little busy here, but not busy enough to excuse being E & T for a couple of weeks.

Possum up a guy tree
Sugar in the corn
Tell you what’s gonna be
Sure as your born
We ain’t just whistlin’ Dixie
We gonna have a jubilation down south!

That’s the New Christy Minstrels from Randy Sparks’ mostly unused songs from the Glenn Ford comedy, “Advance to the Rear.”

I did watch a movie on the plane, which is about the only place I see movies. A Ron Howard documentary about Jim Henson. Quite good. Excellent footage and interviews. No random modern pop stars showing up to throw in their opinions. A success, in my book.

Yesterday’s TOD:

By the time I was born, Mom was baking several dozen types of cookies for her customers. Favorites included Russian tea cakes, rum tarts, cinnamon stars, spritz, Scottish tea cakes (which were like mini pecan pies), chocolate surprise cookies and more.
