Wasn't Merv dating Eva Gabor?

She was what the tabloids call a beard.

DR George, Doug Fullington loved the DVD. I've been remiss in not tellng you sooner.

Thanks, Larry!  That's great!  I'm glad he loved it!

WORLD PREMIERE VIDEO :)

Considering the "worldwide talent search" promised by the new DREAMGIRLS -
Do they really intend to do a revival without some really really big names in this mid-2020's star-driven box office climate?

Now on YouTube  - PARODY - 2020's FANS REACT
“It Takes Stars to Make Us Buy, My Love”
Tune of “Hard to Say Goodbye, My Love” from DREAMGIRLS

First was a new Richard Rodney Bennett classical album on Chandos. Once was enough. I love Richard's film scores, but the classical side of him is twelve-tone noise to my ears and I've tried to get with it but can't - so nuked that.

Now playing is something much more to my liking, a Ruth Gipps compendium on Chandos. I discovered her on the Tube of You about six years ago and she instantly became a favorite and I got the couple of CDs of her music that was available at the time. I had no idea Chandos had done more volumes of her wonderful music, and wonderful it is. Very English and tonal in the musical language I love - think Vaughn Williams and that sort of thing, but with her own voice. This new thing I downloaded is an instant favorite.

When will the damned media wake up and alert the stupid Tramp followers that everything their Führer and Stephern Miller are pulling is straight out of the Nazi playbook?

Not soon enough. >:(

Today's another beaut, but I need to spend quite a bit of it at the piano. I'll do a couple of things outside, too.

Tomorrow afternoon I'm going to the Bedford Playhouse to see the silent Beau Geste (1926) which Robert Harris will be presenting in his new 4K reconstruction and restoration. It has a newly recorded score by The Mont Alto Orchestra, which is excellent news, and "will be presented as it was in 1926 – with an intermission." Looking forward to that.

Very cool, ChasSmith!  Wish I could see that!

TOD:

James Bond.....I saw all the ads in the newspaper and read all the reviews and publicity. The first time I saw him was a double feature of Dr. No and Thunderball.  Then we went to see Goldfinger....

BUT probably my favorite SPY movie is probably Foreign Correspondent.

Of course I liked The Man From Uncle on television.

And a series called The Champions from England with Stuart Damon (Prince Charming) in one of the leading roles.

I’m very interested to watch that Clift bio, JRand. Thanks for the heads up. I read the Bosworth bio and one other years ago, and felt that between them, I got about half an idea of the man. There’s also a good European doc from 1983 on YouTube that Brooks was part of.

Oh we’re just going to forget the Bobby Fuller Four who took “I Fought the Law” to #1, and pretend it was a hit for the Clash. Thanks AI!
