They are saying we may be getting rain today. That would be nice.

BK's CD player issue is certainly confounding.

I feel confounded all the way over here on the right coast.

I love meats, more meats, and extra meats. And I love pesto. But as much as I love pesto, it tends to eventually feel heavy and fill me up quickly. It's similar to Alfredo sauce in that respect, which of course really IS heavy.

Here's what occurred to me last night as I was snacking on a trail mix:

I really like dried fruits - by themselves, in a mix, or as part of anything, really, even fruitcake (I love fruitcake)...

But one thing in dried fruits that makes no sense to me is bananas. (And I love bananas.) I have yet to taste anything resembling a banana in any banana chip in any dried fruit mix I've ever had.

TOD

I can hardly believe it's Friday. Nothing for the TOD today, I'm afraid. The only things I've watched this week have been a few movies on TCM to fall asleep to.

Last night was the beautiful restored version of All That Money Can Buy (The Devil and Daniel Webster). I think I made it through the first half hour before conking out. But man, is it beautiful to see and hear now. Such an improvement.

A couple of nights before that, it was The Night of the Iguana which I must have really been up for, having not seen it in a few decades. I was really into it, and trying to remember the differences between that and the play, but that enjoyment was abruptly cut short when my Xfinity connection left the building. That next morning was a nightmare, and I'm still grateful as hell that the system was restored over the phone.

And was it last week they showed The World of Henry Orient? For my taste, they've been on a nice roll lately. Oh -- last night's was in a series they're doing on UCLA film restorations, so I'd better check the schedule, there could be more good stuff coming up.

From last night:

Jane, my niece's new cat is a young male cat, not really a kitten, but definitely not yet an adult. And even though my sister and her daughter live together and all the cats are technically my niece's, some of the cats favor my sister and some favor my niece.

Cats are like that-lol.  Obviously your sister loves the cats.

In the morning, Shelly and I are going to my sister's to help declutter her garage (a bit ::) ) for her birthday, which is tomorrow, but we also need to go to Home Depot so that I can buy a couple of toilets...mine were originally installed 19 years ago and both need to be replaced!  I wasn't going to get them quite yet, but I heard on MSNBC (SiriusXM simulcast) last night that there's now (or very soonly going to be) tariffs on toilets and kitchen-type cabinets!  WTH??  I don't know if they've started already or not, but I want to, hopefully, not have to deal with/pay that. :P

Best to do it now, not only before there might be tariffs but before people rush to buy them ahead of the tariffs.

So, after doing a little research, an AI overview said "Tariffs on toilets themselves are not currently in place for the United States, but tariffs on imported bathroom vanities and kitchen cabinets have been announced by President Trump for October 1, 2025."  Good for me, for now.

True, but if people think the price is going up they still might rush to buy them.

DR Elmore in particular wanted to see these:

I just picked up Mikey's paw print from Cat Clinic. Here it is, side by side with Poe's from 2020. The similarities and differences are interesting. Poe's was done right here by the vet who made the house call, and she had us keep it untouched for several days as opposed to baking it. Cat Clinic bakes it and we return to pick it up. And no ribbon hole in theirs. We had Poe's hanging on the wall, but I'm proposing we keep the two of them together in a nice felt lined display box. Much safer, and they'll look good against the felt. (This camera shot doesn't pick up all of the impression. They both look better in person.)

As always, click...

They are both very nice and very bittersweet to have.  Sending hugs.

I need some vibes today. I must step out for my tests before next week's doctor's appointment and then I must go to a CVS for vaccinations. After being out on Wednesday, I'm a bit terrified. I had several panic attacks during the night. I'm sure all will be fine but I could use a bit of support.
