Well, you've read the notes, the notes refilled the notes, and now it is time for you to post until the refilled cows come home.

After all the madness of yesterday morning, the remainder of my day was quiet and event-free. I have no plans for today, so I will try to rest my legs, which are killng me, and spend the day off my feet as much as possible.

A new Lynley mystery series? I have the original series that ran from 2001-2007. I liked it very much.

I tried to post a photo of the original but the site will not let me.

DR John G, the author of the book you're reading mayhD, but he doesn't have an editor with a brain. Unless it's self-published.

I'll let them know about the photo thing - once they get everything rebooted, fixed, and on another server, all of these issues will disappear.

I got in bed at two but could not fall asleep - or maybe I slept for thirty minutes. I got up at three, took a Pepcid, and at four I got in the motor car and went to CVS and picked up my refills. As it turns out, the eye doctor didn't need to do the Prednisone one - I have enough to last until it auto renews in early November. But glad I got that out of the way so I reset my alarm for ten-thirty. The Darling Daughter and friend won't be here before then.

We're going through the early seasons of THE MORNING SHOW, and trying to not binge or move thorough the episodes too quickly (we're in season 3 now), in part because there have been no promising prospects for what to watch once we're caught up.

LYNLEY seems like a good possibility.

We enjoy a good detective procedural, so appreciate the suggestion - and we're not that picky as to the age or looks of the lead detectives - THE MADAME BLANC MYSTERIES' two leading detectives were closer to my own age (yes, THAT old!) and we really liked that series, preposterous plot twists and all.  We will get the Acorn station again when the new season of THE MADAME BLANC MYSTERIES is on.

Thanks for the alert that there's a 2001-2007 version, Larry.

Skip really enjoys the British baking show.  For me, it's a fun show to have on in the background while doing other things, but watching that yesterday helped make season 3 of THE MORNING SHOW easier to stretch out and savor.

The main characters in THE MORNING SHOW in the TV/news business seem as ruthless and backbiting as the characters on SUCCESSION, but THE MORNING SHOW somehow has more humanity and the whole show feels more relatable, less distancing.

Last night I pulled out a John Carpenter film I bought long ago but had never watched:  Prince of Darkness (1987). It was interesting enough, and another sort of Lovecraftian story from him. In the Mouth of Madness (1994) is even more so.

I have a love/like relationship with Carpenter's films. I totally admire him and his style, I like his locations, he uses scope to great advantage, he's creative with old themes that have been done to death, and the films are never boring. I just don't love every one of them. But I love a few of them, and I've enjoyed every one I've seen to greater or lesser degrees.

Question for the class:

Are your primary doctors' offices open on Saturdays, at least for limited services? I don't know if I'm remembering wrong, but I just found out mine is completely closed weekends. All I wanted was to ask them to send through a prescription refill for one that he hadn't made automatic yet, but I can't even do that till Monday. Fortunately, I have enough.

Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but it just seems like I've been able to call them on Saturday mornings. They're part of a large regional network that includes the major local hospitals, etc. I'll have to ask when I'm talking to them.

As the dancer says in Best Little Whitehouse, this is very true. (Not self-published.)
